England v India Tests

Seems like this series has sneaked up without anyone noticing. All the focus is on the ****ing **** Hundred and suddenly we've got 5 Tests against the powerhouse.

We're going in without the players having had any first class cricket since June and with no Stokes.

The team bats deep, but the bowling is very medium pace and, as usual, no spinner. So if anyone gets in, and the pitch is flat, we might struggle to break the partnership

When was the last time England fielded a 4 man medium-fast bowling attack?
Think England are a bowler light here - I'd have liked to have seen the extra pace of Wood over the batting of Bairstow. The last time Bairstow played a first class innings was a golden duck v India in March:Stunned:

India look a much better balanced side.

Pray for cloud cover :Winking: 5 lovely tests,oh to be in England now that summers here, proper cricket.

What a shambles in the batting again. Can't believe we chose to bat as well.

Curran majorly struggling this Test with no runs (first-ball duck) or no wickets (0 for 72)

Bad light with the spinners on my arse. Kohli has just lost my respect for pressuring the umpires...

Did you see the match when India were fielding and the last batsman was given "out". Kohli was already off the field and in the dressing room when DRS overruled and reversed the on-field umpire decision and the batsman was given "not out"

Can't believe all their antics again today. Then again our bowling has been s***!!

Hopefully that's the last we see of Burns and Sibley. Get Chef out of retirement with Strauss

squad for Third Test

England squad: Joe Root (capt), Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Jonathan Bairstow, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler (wk), Sam Curran, Haseeb Hameed, Dan Lawrence, Saqib Mahmood, Dawid Malan, Craig Overton, Ollie Pope, Ollie Robinson, Mark Wood

there's clearly something deeper going on. We've changed players, batting coaches, head coaches, and still can't score a run. the domestic schedule? looks likely to be that

India don’t play too much 4 day cricket. The simple answer is we haven’t been good enough for 18 months. Relying far too much on 1 batsmen and 2 ageing bowlers and not enough talent coming through.

also not winning becomes a habit hard to break. A bit like SUFC......until tomorrow!

India do seem to have the nucleus of their squad playing all forms of the game and all being very adaptable.

We on the other hand bring in the likes of Burns, Sibley, Broad and Jimmy who have seen very little action. It's hardly surprising with the later two that the injuries are more frequent.

Indeed, India all out for 78 in their first innings.

What a great England bowling attack. :Thumbs up:
