Ok our defence needs improving but in attack we are better than most. Hope Southgate is still in charge , previous managers couldn’t even speak English. Blame the Premiership for footballs woes many promising British players never get a chance replaced by overated overpaid foreign players

Agree. However, one thing I have seen is that the younger players are starting to go abroad to get game time. It's what happened with France a few years back. IIRC most of the French squad were playing outside of France.

Contrary to popular belief these players don't want to earn good money playing reserve football. If they can get game time, and experience a different culture they seem to be more willing to do so than previous generations. That will eventually have a positive impact on the national team.
