Now I admit I'm no authority on SUFC but even this passed me by.

Ernie Watkins' first 2 games in 1925 produced 5 goals (!)
4 games goal-less then 6 in 4 games.

Even so, 11 in 10 games. Then came a "breach of club rules" in December 1925 and he was suspended along with another player (whose name escapes me) and was shipped out to Brentford in 1926.

One wonders why.

Maybe not a bad move - his replacement was Billy Hick - who scored 74 in 113. Yes SIR!
