Essex CCC 2019

Weather conditions were perfect for bowling on the first morning and with the attack Hampshire have I’m surprised they didn’t have a bowl. I know the old adage is win the toss and bat first but if it’s overcast you think about it and bat anyway but matches rarely go the full four days anymore. Poor decision by Northeast and like you say, they batted badly.

As SAM wrote, weather conditions were the main culprit, but fair play to our bowlers today, best I have ever seen in many a season
Hampshire poor maybe but I would give our bowlers the benefit of the doubt
Cook looked poor again, and think if it was anyone else than Cook he would have been rested by now ...
Great result though and team effort by all
And I include Cook

Cracking result.

Anyone know what happened to Sam Cook? Hope it isn’t serious, he’s a massive part of this team.
