Arsenal looking a bit ropey at the back (but then who isn’t ) but good going forward. Valencia could do this yet though.

Chelsea, well they have some issues dont they but they should be too strong for Frankfurt.

Arsenal are such a confidence required team, good when sharp but suspect when the chips are down. Classic route 1 goal , very BBBC ish.

Thought,Chelsea, out of our 4 teams, would be the one to go through easiest.
But they made it the hardest.
Frankfurt fans were great again, made the home fans look stupid, again.
After the game the German tv showed you the stadium(about 15 mins later),it was empty of Chelsea fans, although they had won and reached the final.
The frankfurt fans all stayed behind (like they did at the home leg) and celebrated with the team, although they got knocked out.
Freddie Bobic (Ffurt director of football,i think)...moaned after the game, that he thought not enough Englishmen took the penalties!! German humour
Thought Arsenal result was excellent, one of our(English),best ever away euro results
Looking foreward to going to Nürnberg (football game) tomorrow, will wear some sort of England/English shirt....and a big German style ,smug face

Four English CLUBS - how many English PLAYERS though?!

You mean four clubs based in England. They stopped being English a long time ago. Most of them are foreign owned with mostly foreign players.

Football is leading the way in breaking down nationalist and racial barriers. Who cares about the nationality of coaches, players or supporters. The same across Europe, great to see.

To a certain extent I agree with that. My issue is that the clubs lose their identity. For example, how many of these current players will be around to create their equivalent of a SUEPA in future, or a charity match for Havens that CP is putting together?

I find it difficult to get excited about teams that could be from anywhere in the world. It doesn't really fill me with pride in the way it did when, say, Liverpool won the European Cup back in the day and just about every player was from the UK.

As an aside, don't you think it's time UEFA made a ruling that if both teams in the final come from the same country, the move that final to the country in question. Madrid - ok, not too bad but Baku? How are 20000+ English fans supposed to get to there at such short notice?

Armchair 'sky' fans don't. People who give their hard earned cash to clubs do.

Good idea but you are thinking about the fans. Something governing bodies in football never do.
