Can we also predict a score? Methinks a thrashing. 8-0?

8-1. Peter Clarke will concede at least one free-kick too many for needlessly wrestling Mario Walsh, which Ronnie Whelan will dispatch into the top corner.

The W's are a pretty poor team especially at the back when they're facing the Crown, Cadette, Collymore triumviate. As YB says though, you fancy Whelan to nick a freekick.

6-1. the W's crumble under the onslaught.

W, the team that should have been...

GK Dave Whitelaw
RB Arthur Williamson
LB Frank Walton
CB Peter Watson
CB Shane Westley
CM Ronnie Whelan
RM Derek Woodley
LM Willie Coulson
F Roger Willis
F Wayne Gray
F Albert Wakefield

Now that would have been interesting.

No room for Roy Walsh* there then Jon :tumbleweed:

* Roy Walsh played in a 2-1 defeat at home to Darlington in 1967 and was never seen again

Could Willie Coulson have played against himself???!

Agree, most one-sided match ever, though a fair point in that Clarkey would probably concede either a free kick or penalty that the Wubble Ewes would score from.

Anything was possible after he and wee Davie Cunningham had been on the lash.
