Ex Shrimpers Goal Scoring League 2015/2016 *Table updated:Page 6 (04/04/16)*

Another excellent post.

I see Revell wasn't in the Wigan squad yesterday. Is he still with them?

He has just returned to Cardiff but maybe on the move again. Rotherham are showing interest so could be returning to his old club.

Yes, 2 goals for Hooper sunk Leeds on Saturday - I happened to tune into Radio Norfolk when leaving Peterborough on Saturday where they were discussing Norwich's inability to sign decent strikers (compared with Bournemouth that is) .......... a Mr Hooper was mentioned as a waste of £5m I think it was ......

23/01/16 UPDATE: Today we had 6 goals scored by 6 players, we had 2 new goal scorers and have a new overall leader. In the Championship fresh from signing a permanent deal with Sheff Wed Gary Hooper got his 7th of the season. In league one Leon Clarke scored his 13th to take the top spot. In league two John-Joe O'Toole scored his 6th of the season, Josh Simpson scored his 1st for Plymouth and Lee Barnard finally hit the back of the net for Crawley. Finally Liam Dickinson scored his 5th of the season.

Welcome to Lee Barnard and Josh Simpson
Congratulations to Liam Dickinson on scoring his 5th of the season.

Some appalling figures in among that lot - we are over half the way through a season and some "strikers" have scored just the once.

At least it's for other clubs and not us. Although I'd have Leon Clarke back in a flash.

30/01/16 UPDATE - With it being the FA Cup 4th round we have lost out on a lot of games again. There was no midweek scorers and today there was only 2 goals scored with one new entry. Jack Sampson scored his 2nd of the season for Macclesfield and Mark Phillips scored his 1st of the season for Braintree Town.

Welcome to Mark Phillips.

In the championship Gary Hooper made it 6 goals in 6 games with another 2 goals to bring his tally to 9 for the season, do we have a late contender for the title with Barry Corr out for the season and Clarke and Ibehre not scoring as freely as before. JJ O'Toole scored his 7th of the season and the prince Harry lookalike Matty Harrold scored his 5th of the season. We have still yet to have a player score for two teams this season.

Question for people, Calum Butcher according to Wikipedia was with us at youth level. Do we include him? We have Hayden and Poleon who were ex youth players on the board.

Don't see why not, I'd never heard of him being here until the commentators mentioned it tonight either.

Don't see why not, I'd never heard of him being here until the commentators mentioned it tonight either.

I researched him earlier when people mentioned he went to school in Southend. He's scored 4 goals this season so will add him at the next update.

28/02/16 UPDATE: Since last weekend we have had 4 goals scored by 3 players and all goals coming from the championship with one new entry. MK Dons signed Alex Revell on loan in the January transfer window and he has now scored 2 in 2 with one on Tuesday and one on Saturday. He becomes to the 2nd player to score for two clubs and now has 3 for the season. Liam Feeney got his 5th of the season for struggling Bolton and Hal Robson-Kanu got his 1st of the season for Reading. I have also added Calum Butcher after finding out his is an ex shrimper youth player. He has 4 so far for the season and plays for Burton.

Welcome to Hal Robson-Kanu and a late one for Calum Butcher.
Congratulations to Liam Feeney on his 5th of the season.

Saw O'Keefe scored ......... what a player we "missed out" on.

And I also see Prosser played for the second game in a row.

And I also notice that Barnard is still on the bench at Crawley ........ and not even getting on as a sub. Poor that.

UPDATE: 12/03/16 - This week we have 4 goals scored by 4 scorers and one of those is in the dubious panel as to whether he should be in the list. First off in the Championship Gary Hooper scored his 11th of the season to close in on the top 3 overall. In league one the dubious addition is Elliot Lee who came on loan last season but an injury in training sent him back and never to return. Got his 1st goal for Colchester he is on loan from West Ham. In league two Billy Paynter joined the club of double figures with his 10th and the ginger ninja Matty Harrold scored his 7th of the season.

Welcome controversially to Elliot Lee.
Congratulations to Billy Paynter on hitting 10 for the season.

Ex Southend loanee Dean Morgan also notched for Newport County in their 3-0 win at Fratton Park. Morgan came on as a 2nd half substitute. The striker... carrying a bit of timber these days.... who earlier contrived to miss an easier chance, calmly slotting in the exiles third against 10 man Pompey.

Whilst we are mentioning ex-strikers, Pigott came on for Luton in the 2nd half in their 1-0 loss to Crawley who had Prince Harry score.
