Starting this a little earlier this week, as I have a spare 10 minutes.

Billy Paynter did what he could never do for us, and hit the net at Roots Hall... then back to his brilliant best, injuring himself celebrating.

Gary Hooper after a barren month, and still nobody catching him up decided to score again as Scunthorpe prepare themselves for our visit with another victory.

Michael Ricketts started the scoring for Walsall, on a day I am sure they will want to forget.

Michael Kightly showed Freddy how to do it, in the battle of the ex-Grays boys at Molineux. Second place again in the table.

Non-league scorers to come over the weekend

Interestingly, a little fact gleaned from the papers today, out of Hooper's 8 goals, 7 have come away from home so hopefully, he won't do the deed against us on Tuesday.

From the clips, thought Freddy looked to have had a decent game for Coventry, and a hand in Mifsud's goal. Looked to be a real thorn in Wolves' sides.

dont want to be too finickity but Dan Harvey and James Lindie are only out on loan and as such dont qualify as ex-shrimpers!

We have had this debate, and ended up with the conclusion that if you score and it isnt for us, then that kind of qualifies you for this competition. After all it is only a bit of fun. There is also the bit about ex-triallists not being counted, and cup goals not counting. A line was drawn in the sand on day one which kind of keeps it manageable.

Happy to alter the rules for next season if it improves it.

His few goals for us were away from home as well generally, weren't they?

I'm thinking specifically his two really good games, Leeds and Bournemouth away. Can't remember much else.

You might be right actually, have had a quick look and seems as if he scored 4 goals for us, 2 in the league and 2 in cup games. The 2 in cup games were both at Leeds (what a game that was!), one was obviously at Bournemouth, not sure about the other - couldn't be bothered to check through everything!

Blimey.. Tuesday the 21 October was what one might call "fecund" with ex-shrimper football league goalscoring form - and no sign of the Hooper which was good news

Charlie Macdonald started the ball rolling with Brentford's equaliser against Morecambe. A goal which takes him to 3rd place. Ominously placed I feel...

Drewe Broughton then finally opened his league account this season with Rotherhams second goal at Bury.

Lee Bradbury was also at it midway through the first half, scoring Bournemouths opener against Dagenham & Redbridge.

Dean Morgan then bagged his first of the season for Leyton Orient as they stunned Leeds at Elland Road by taking the lead.

In the second half, Michael Ricketts, then Billy Paynter continued their impressive week with more goals - against Leicester and Northampton respectively.

Two goals then came in the same game at Oakwell, where Jamal Campbell-Ryce struck Barnsleys second, before Leon Clarke decided to join the fun with a penalty for Sheffield Wednesday.

In non-league, Jonathan Hunt scored the only goal for St Albans City against Welling in the Blue Square South

Yep, me too! And to answer the other question there, all being a fair playing field, I'd love to have Kightly here still - wouldn't anyone?

With the benefit of 20/20 hindsight then yes. But I don't think that many here would have disagreed with the decision to release him. The way he has gone away to Grays and worked on his strength, fitness and game and getting his subsequent move to Wolves is a credit to him.

That podium is brilliant Maggers keep up the good work. I will be having a word with senior Cricko about our little idea ;)
