Today, Thursday 4th November, at 7:30pm we play our next round of the FA Youth Cup having progressed to the Competition Proper when the League clubs start to enter.

The appointed man in charge for this match is Rhys Battye from Thurrock - a level 3 referee. With a degree in Sports Studies, he is a PE teacher at the Harris Academy in Ockendon.

Assisting him will be Michael Scott, a level 4 from Stanford-le-hope and Benjamin Horne from Benfleet. Benjamin performed a similar role in the earlier round match against Barking when he was a level 5 but he is one of a number of officials who received a mid-season promotion and he is now a level 4

Fourth Official is Luke Scottow from Southend-on-Sea, another level 4 official.

I post this not under any illusion that anyone is remotely interested in who will be officiating this match, but more as a reminder that it's taking place. They are normally good value, as is the informative programme.

Hope nobody read your “Today....” last night at 7.11 pm and made an abortive dash to the ground !?
