The youths, having beaten Leverstock Green and Barnet now face an altogether more difficult task tomorrow night in the next round of the FA Youth Cup.

Their opponents' recent results include victories over their counterparts from Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Sunderland, Newcastle, Stoke and Everton ! Junior Mondal, especially, and Alex Pattison appear to present the biggest goal threat. Their team are travelling down today, staying overnight and light training under the dome in the morning (okay, the last bit's not necessarily true).

Officiating this match will be a team of two Kentish Men and one Man of Kent.

Referee is level 3, Simon Finnigan from Maidstone who would normally be found refereeing at Ryman level or running the line on the Conference South.

Assisting will be Craig Burton from Rochester and Jason Down from Sittingbourne.

Fourth official comes from a little closer to home - David Harrison, a recently promoted level 4 from Wickford.

Best of luck to the youths, I fear they will need it.

Anyone else going to this? Heard some talk of possibly getting the drum to the game to up the atmosphere a bit, is this happening?

Certainly will be a tough game, but they've done well to get this far.

a few of us going but will be a tough game, lets hope its not a replica of the 9-0 whipping we had at anfield!

Disappointed that the Echo couldn't find its way clear to even mention it today !

They may well have done a feature during the week but I, and a fair few others, only buy it Fridays and Mondays and as the game is actually today some little reference would have helped !!

Hopefully not, with only one stand open and nowhere else to go for those who don't confuse monotonous drum banging with atmosphere.

No one reporting from the game tonight? Tweets seem to be relating quite a game. Slipped 0-2 behind only to have recovered in the last third of the half, scoring one and then equalising just befor half-time. Prize is another home tie against either Millwall or Newcastle United.

How gutting, still valuable lesson learnt. It aint over till fat lady sings or ref blows whistle. Outstanding performance and further proof if any were needed of how good our youth setup is.

Great effort from our lads - gutted for them to lose like that. Very impressed with the "Middlesborough Messi".

What a cracking game. Throughly enjoyed it. Fantastic goal to go 3-2 up by the number 11 who caused them problems all night long. Ref plays 4 minutes added time. Their third goal must have only just been within the 4 minutes and their winner was scores after 8 minutes ! No justice tonight.

Lads done themselves and the club proud tonight. Would have been the perfect end had it finished 3-2 with a cracking goal from Nico Cotton, who I thought was our best player.

Couple let of very late and very scrappy goals will be very hard to take though as in the second half we certainly played better than they did.

Can see most of the 2nd year scholars getting at least a 3rd year.

amazing game - when we went 2 down looks as though we would get a hammering but we fought back. Screamer to go 3-2 up which send the crowd wild. By my watch both Middlesboro goals were over the 4 minutes extra
