Blues Youths 1-1 Coventry at half time. Blues goal an absolute screamer!

Courtesy of Mr Wallis.

1-1 according to twitter. Conceded a pen early and then Southend equalise with a thunderbolt from Hicham Abdellah from all of 20 yards in the top corner.

From Twitter:

2-1 to Southend terrible mistake by Coventry keeper lets Julian Okai in to put the home side ahead

And big Duane Ofori-Acheampong makes it 3-1. That's his 12th goal of the season

Spoke to LDN who went along lastminute.com decision, he missed the Cov goal but said our lads played really really well and fully deserve the victory

Really good game, Coventry took the lead from another dubious penalty before an absolute screamer from Hicham levelled.

2nd Half Coventry upped their game and put us under quite a bit of pressure early on, we got back into the game and then a ball over the top left Duane and Julian running onto a ball which the coventry keeper was favourite for, he missed his kick completely , misjudged the bounce or took his eyes off it with a 6'4 lad charging at him and Julian slotted it home.
We tied it up with a deep cross into the box and Duane held off the defender head in.

Players which impressed , Hicham Abdellah, looked likely wide right, some good turns and touches , not scared to run at his full back and scored a great goal
Julian Okai, another quick tricky winger who chased everything
Duane O A needs a bit of work, but a much improved second half and he gave them a lot to think about.

The Coventry no 7 Luke Bottomer was good too, he caused Teddy Nesbitt oa lot of trouble in the first half, but Teddy came out all guns blazing aftrer the break, got in hard on his man (and got booked for his troubles) and the lad drifted out of the game and was subbed with 10 to got. Teddy also got forward well .

Lyle looked good too , good on the ball and a football brain.

The Coventry 6 Cyrus Christie looked like he could make it, quick strong and good on the ball, tbh the 6 and 7 were the two coventry players who stuck out , except for their keeper who looked shaky.

Nice to see some of the first team there as well - Easton, Barker, Coughlan, Moshni and Screech. Moshni got quite excited when we scored our third and started jumping around in the directors' box. ( Hopefully that's a sign that his ankle is healing nicely!!) Rather surprised to see our friend Billy Jennings there.
