So after RichieC's admission that he's related to Dick Clement, is there anyone in your family tree vaguely famous?

I am, through marriage, somehow related to Lorraine Kelly or so I'm told.

You 'orrible lot?

My Uncle has researched our family tree and on my maternal grandmother's side we are directly descended from one Richard Empson minister to Henry VII (later beheaded by Henry VIII). One of his other daughters married into the family that would become the Spencers making me about 18-19 times removed cousin of Princess Diana & Winston Churchill.

Does that count?

I once heard it told that i was descended from this chap ...

Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson, 1st Duke of Bronté

If he is, DC certainly wasn't at the old chap's wedding. There were a couple of Likely Lads in attendance though.:winking:

One of your siblings being a published author should be good enough.

Which reminds me I have a "step" cousin who has just had a novel published.

Not sure having a pop novel privately published really counts.:winking:As it happens our other brother has also published(again privately)a guide to investment banking.:omg:Perhaps i should get my finger out?

Blimey get you! All my ancestors are just farm hands....from near Colchester

It counts for me as it's pretty good. Not sure about investment banking mind. Everyone has a novel in them, wish I could find, publish and make a fortune out of mine, I could bloody well retire.

Justin Edinburgh through marriage 5 times over or something, cousin's cousin's sister in law's cousin's husband or something like that.

Needless to say, NOT really related.

Josef Mengele was my great grandfathers university colleague at the Munich University in Anthropology back in the mid 30's. Before any you lefties decide to hang me its a fact the guy despite being totally evil was a grade A student in his time.
