You know that day when the fixtures come out and the first thing we all do is look for our best away trip? And who the last game be will against? And sometimes it’s one of those when it all comes together and we’re going away on the last day to the seaside on a Bank Holiday jolly-boys. Most of you might have looked for a Blackpool weekender in your fixtures – there isn’t a league recently we haven’t been in!

Well this season, we’re inviting you all to have one with us – including Preston! We reckon it might be your last chance – no doubt we’re going down this year – but that’s not half the story. We’re in serious danger of dropping out of the leagues altogether. What’s been done to us in the last few seasons could happen to any club in the country – there’s nothing in the way the modern game is run to stop it. We’re organising a massive fans united protest to stand shoulder to shoulder with other fans on May 2nd at Blackpool. We’re inviting any of you that fancy a Blackpool trip on the last Saturday of the FL to come and show unity with other like-minded fans and show those that run the game that we can’t be ignored.

Not sure where you boys will be by the last game – play-offs secured at least I would think (but I am sure you are not counting any chickens just yet) even automatic (although that may be a stretch - but stranger things happen in the run-in) so if you are ..... please come to Blackpool and get some cheap beer, a cheap B&B maybe and meet others who care about what used to be our game and our way of life.

In the words of another former club chairman, the owners of Blackpool ‘trousered the lot’ of the Premiership windfall. What you probably don’t know is that they are taking fans through court for alleged libel, extracting money and apologies from us to stay out of court, goading us on message boards, and abusing fans with disabilities in personal texts (see FA text-gate investigation). We have to watch our step and what we say. But they can’t stop us boycotting and protesting. It’s our club, we want it back. It could be your club, and you wouldn’t stand for it either!

We want the last day to be our party. We know many of you from games in recent seasons or we’ve stood with you on England duty in years gone by. We know we’re stronger together than divided. We won’t stop fighting them – we even have our own independent candidate standing in the General Election on May7th – you can show your support for him by liking the

Come and join us on May 2nd and show what real fans can do together.

I can think of few Chairman in comparison to whom, Ron Martin would seem a paragon of virtue.

Oyston is one.

tbh , if anyone on here was going to go all that way for a last game of the season "Footy by the sea day", I imagine they would go the 40 mile further and watch Southend vs Morecambe

Best of luck but don't hold hope for us lot. Protesters got ridiculed by some on Shrimperzone when our chairman was gambling with our future existance.

Read somewhere that Oyston's wife was the highest paid CEO in world football !

Bad owners.

More the nature of the "protest" in that case I think. All I remember is fans demanding Ron came out to answer questions, him doing exactly that only to get a load of abuse and rightly disappearing back to his office. Opportunity wasted.

Sorry to hear your sad story mate ! But as you well know some people are givers and some are takers. Its unfortunate that your chairman and his director allies are of the latter. Wish you well on your protest !

Thanks for the words of support chaps. Appreciate it.

I know it's along way and you have a big end of season run in ahead of you (for which we wish you all the best) if you could spread the word on this or the fact that we are putting a candidate up in the General Election that would be great.

BTW - Peter Clarke is back with us now - a lot older and slower than we he left us for you boys all those years ago - he seems to have reinvented himself as a hard man, always niggling the opposition and trying to stir up the away fans - - - I don't remember him being like this first time around ???

I remember him as a hard man and niggling the opposition. I don't remember him stirring up the away fans though - apart from Chelsea of course! :winking:

I'm sure we wish you well, and had your match not been at the same time as ours at Morecambe you probably would have some of us there. If you haven't done so already, I do suggest you get your supporters' group/trust to get in touch with Supporters Direct.

UPDATE : We are reliably informed that Blackpool's chairman is threatening the council with legal action if the protest is allowed to go ahead.

Quite fitting to hear of such democratic practices as we enter election season.
