ShrimperZone CC v AFC Wimbledon

How we could have done with this game mid season. Mostly reserve line up looking to bat out 3 days for gate receipts. We're already promoted so fairly insignificant other than for morale.

Anyone got something more relevant?

Baggys Slackers v BATTY SHRIMPERS

I have !!

I need a maximum points win to guarantee survival. Oppo is 3rd and trails the leaders by 12 points, however he is in a 3-way tie at the top of his OD league, so I'm praying that he throws this game in favour of trying to secure OD promotion.

I'm at full-strength, but my bowlers are basically knackered.

lozzys losers v DIBS DIPPERS

Mrs BB has nothing to play for (apart from whether she finishes 3rd or 4th), so she's got her II's playing as she tries to make sure of guaranteed OD promotion on Friday.

Southend v Hubbards Hills CC

Welcome to The Garrison for the match between Southend and Hubbards Hills CC.

We can tell you that Hubbards Hills CC won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking like a road. As flat as a pancake. No help for the bowlers on this sunny day.

Let’s join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

Lost a big toss here, wanted to bat as long as possible. As it is, they're likely to get full batting points putting big pressure on me tomorrow.

Situation is, I'm top by 1 point, Hubbards Hill are second, and we're playing for a place in the top division.

End of Over 9 (Maiden). Hubbards Hills CC: 20-0, runrate=2.22
Overs left today: 101
Gobern 3-1-3-0
Usman* 10 (27 balls)
Cartwright 10 (27 balls)

Make sure you take it the full 3 days Muse, and knacker his bowlers at the same time. He's in my OD division, and we're in a relegation battle :)

I like games like this every so often.

I'm playing for a draw, which will mean batting for as long as possible, so hopefully his bowlers will be spent!

Gobern 6-2-9-0

3. Lower Standards CC 9 4 1 4 0 29 24 125

The score is this:

I need 14 points to guarantee promotion. The theory is as follows. Draw. Get my 5 batting points by tomorrow midday and then aim to get my 2 bowling points needed. Its actually started well.

End of Over 27 (5 runs). General Stars: 64-1, runrate=2.37

On an unrelated note, we broke our attendance record on Friday with a crowd of 59,390 packing into Garon Park. Given that next season is going to be pretty tough I'm going to hold off from increasing the capacity just yet but with member numbers still shooting up I reckon we'll need to go to 65k or even 70k soon.

Another nice sum through the gate today:
20/04/2010 Played a match and received £498,720 in gate receipts.

We're also due for about £1m in prize money which will help keep us ticking over with full interest over the 2 week dead zone.

Playing the bottom team, I'm top with 4 points in hand. We had a great start but have not done much since.

The players are off the field for lunch.

End of Over 35 (9 runs). Goochies Greats: 124-3, runrate=3.54
Overs left today: 75
Hulse 9-2-27-0
Vusi* 45 (79 balls)
Midworth 70 (115 balls)
Last Wicket: Cam c. Lake b. Walker 0 (FOW: 10/3)

Kev,

I don't want to worry you, but the most you can get for a draw is 12 points. You might have to revise your strategy....

Going well so far, but it's bowling conditions (Slow / PC+H), so it's going to be tough to get to 360...
