Playing one of my usual many games against Gatley. I think I would have had enough to beat them had I won the toss and fielded a full line up with sun today and PCH the next two days but as I said I was throwing the season it would be a bit unfair to suddenly field a full line up. And we lost the toss anyway.

So it's my two young all rounders bowling with two jubs, we then bat down to 9 in the hope of somehow batting out two days on his flat pitch to try and get a draw to help keep morale up.

End of Over 11 (10 runs). Gatley: 71-0, runrate=6.45
Overs left today: 99
Stapleton 6-0-40-0
Bissell* 50 (44 balls)
Sayce 20 (22 balls)

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Stansfield Superjets

Top of the table clash. Not going well despite having the better of the conditions.

We can tell you that Stansfield Superjets won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this sunny day.

End of Over 39 (1 run). BATTY SHRIMPERS: 99-4, runrate=2.54
Overs left today: 71
Hone 3-0-10-0
Lindop* 2 (6 balls)
Nagendranath 5 (8 balls)

Last Wicket: Ingram c. Glasser b. Acton 3 (FOW: 97/4)

Queens Park CC v DIBS DIPPERS

Good start by Mrs BB as she looks to maintain her 100% record in all comps.

We can tell you that DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 40 (9 runs). Queens Park CC: 130-5, runrate=3.25
Overs left today: 70
Kealey 9-1-35-1
Gooding* 19 (32 balls)
Prue 13 (25 balls)

Last Wicket: Atkins b. Kealey 14 (FOW: 100/5)

No declaration thus far so every over is an over we don't have to bat out. A first wicket for my young all rounder as well.

End of Over 68 (4 runs). Gatley: 377-1, runrate=5.54
Overs left today: 42
Stapleton 20-0-117-0
Bissell* 157 (188 balls)
Swartz 104 (117 balls)

Last Wicket: Sayce c. Lamey b. Gulpen 110 (FOW: 221/1)

Park Avenue CC v Southend United

We can tell you that Park Avenue CC won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this partially cloudy day.

Let’s join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

End of Over 72 (2 runs). Park Avenue CC: 187-4, runrate=2.60
Overs left today: 38
Cahill 12-1-32-1
Teggart* 42 (76 balls)
Foxe 4 (13 balls)
Last Wicket: Mcinally lbw b. Cahill 27 (FOW: 177/4)

The two games I've had with these have ended in draws and this one will probably be the same. Bowling weather today but sunny tomorrow and Thursday.

Wrayburn Wranglers vs Southchurch Village CC.

Dusty pitch in the sun and put in to bowl in my first attempt at using 4 bowlers. We've been scoring poorly for the last two seasons, only posted 205 and 206 in the 1st game (played a bot 2nd game) and I can't buy anyone, so put the extra batsman in to try and get more batting points on the board.

Bowditch and Shashidhar claimed 4-a-piece as a pretty strong batting line-up was bowled out for 165.

Had a touch today when scouting the league leaders and noticed they've sold 3 of their best players and are currently 12-5 having conceded 457 runs. Being 2nd right now and in a good position at the end of day 1 at 146-2, a possible promotion push may be on the horizon.

Started the day well but ended up badly. Bowled oppo out for 170 odd but i was bowled out for less than 100 as 20 wickets fell on day one... They close on 19-0!

No declaration from Gatley so we have 220 overs to try and bat out to get a draw. 589/4 at close

Bowled title favourite out for 283 on my dusty track including 9-74 from my star spinner 33-0 in reply. I rested a couple of bowlers for this and my AR is bat only. Pre-match target was as many bonus points as possible. If I can avoid the follow on and even get a batting point that would be great. A draw would be a massive boost to my chances of staying up.

The players are off the field for the change of innings.

End of Over 113 (Maiden). Park Avenue CC: 293-10, runrate=2.59
Overs left today: 107
Lake 24-9-47-4
Al* 0 (0 balls)

220 overs to survive. Each partnership needs to survive 11 overs on average. Lamo survived 11 overs. Think I'll need a bit more from the top order to keep that ratio alive!

End of Over 15 (10 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 49-1, runrate=3.27
Trail by 540 runs. (Gatley 589-4)
Overs left today: 95
Arunakumara 1-0-10-0
Sinethemba* 22 (40 balls)
Guneratne 16 (16 balls)

Last Wicket: Lamey b. Drew 11 (FOW: 32/1)

Well, I reckon that's our chance gone. Flat pitch and Richie manages to last one ball.

End of Over 25 (3 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 92-3, runrate=3.68
Trail by 497 runs. (Gatley 589-4)
Overs left today: 85
Naidoo 6-0-24-2
Wanless* 3 (2 balls)
Sinethemba 38 (61 balls)

Last Wicket: Cunningham b. Naidoo 0 (FOW: 89/3)

Sunny day and my bowlers have done superbly here ...

End of Over 40 (Maiden). BWB: 116-7, runrate=2.90 (1st Inn: 171-10)
Lead by 212 runs. (General Stars 75-10)
Overs left today: 74
Deane 3-2-2-3
Rupusinghe* 9 (12 balls)
Jackman 0 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Mcgregor c. Ndungane b. Deane 0 (FOW: 116/7)

They put on a big partnership at the death but i need 250 to win with over 50 overs in the sun today so need to be around 150-3 to be in with a chance...

Pitch inspectors are on their way....

Wilkey took 5/3 as they collapsed from 45/3 to 59ao. This will be a massive victory for us, especially if we can get it done today and give the bowlers a days rest.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Stansfield Superjets

Stansfield Superjets have resumed their innings.

Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 27 (7 runs). Stansfield Superjets: 98-2, runrate=3.63 (1st Inn: 59-10)
Trail by 86 runs. (BATTY SHRIMPERS 243-10)
Overs remaining today: 57
Singh 5-1-16-1
Dagnall* 45 (73 balls)
Hone 17 (15 balls)

Last Wicket: Richards lbw b. Singh 30 (FOW: 72/2)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Healthy but not substantial lead for Mrs BB.

Queens Park CC v DIBS DIPPERS

DIBS DIPPERS have resumed their innings.

Ilyas 19-2-49-0
Arnold* 65 (132 balls)
Rogan 2 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Kealey b. Parkinson 0 (FOW: 262/9)

We wanted partnerships but at 15 overs this is the longest one we've managed. If the rest can hold out another 25-30 overs I might have a chance but I can't see it.

End of Over 70 (Maiden). ShrimperZone CC: 199-6, runrate=2.84
Trail by 390 runs. (Gatley 589-4)
Overs left today: 40
Howard 10-2-26-0
Wanless* 48 (108 balls)
Udayakumar 7 (53 balls)

Last Wicket: Graham b. Drew 7 (FOW: 181/6)

End of Over 15 (8 runs). General Stars: 61-2, runrate=4.07 (1st Inn: 75-10)
Trail by 188 runs. (BWB 171-10 & 153-10)
Overs left today: 40
Black 2-0-19-0
Guy* 30 (38 balls)
Sookram 19 (19 balls)

Last Wicket: Browne b. Mcgregor 3 (FOW: 11/2)

BIG session coming ...

Great little innings from the youngster. Sadly that's it as far as batting is concerned (well, Gulpen is competent!). Hopefully we can get 10 overs of wag from the tail and then hope that Sini and Lamo can see the day out.

End of Over 84 (Maiden). ShrimperZone CC: 247-7, runrate=2.94
Trail by 342 runs. (Gatley 589-4)
Overs left today: 26
Hibbert 18-5-36-2
Wanless* 83 (152 balls)
Gulpen 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Udayakumar b. Hibbert 20 (FOW: 247/7)

End of Over 37 (1 run). Wrayburn Wranglers: 93-9, runrate=2.51 (1st Inn: 165-10)
Trail by 57 runs. (Southchurch Village CC 315-10)
Overs left today: 20
Shashidhar 10-3-20-2
Qutubuddin* 15 (31 balls)
Rowe-Francis 0 (0 balls)
Last Wicket: Barness c. Bowditch b. Shashidhar 0 (FOW: 93/9

Well we managed over 300! Hasn't happened at all I don't think in the last 2 seasons and it appears there was no need for the 5th bowler anyway! Bonus day's rest to boot

Not a bad effort from where we were but can't see me batting out 126 overs.

The players are off the field for the change of innings.

End of Over 98 (Maiden). ShrimperZone CC: 266-10, runrate=2.71
