Queens Park CC v ShrimperZone CC

Made a mess of the toss today, thought it was Monday so based it on tomorrow's weather. Won it and am now batting in PCH with sunny tomorrow :dunce:

No disasters as yet though and if this game turns out to be the draw I'm expecting then at least we'll hopefully put in less overs of bowling.

End of Over 33 (Maiden). ShrimperZone CC: 124-1, runrate=3.76
Overs left today: 77
Cartwright 5-1-7-0
Guneratne* 27 (54 balls)
Lamey 60 (93 balls)

Last Wicket: Sinethemba st. Gooding b. Dugdale 31 (FOW: 81/1)

End of Over 13 (Maiden). Deep Backward Square Leg: 23-2, runrate=1.77
Trail by 274 runs. (Wycombe Hotspur CC 297-10)
Overs left today: 21
Azhar 7-4-8-1
Robert* 3 (16 balls)
Mehar 15 (41 balls)
Last Wicket: Cronin b. Lavigne 2 (FOW: 9/2)

Not sure how I managed to bowl them out for 297, but I'm well happy with that!

BATTY SHRIMPERS (1st) v Southend (3rd)

Back-to-back SZ derbies for us, as we take on Muse.

Weather set as Aamzonian for the next 3 days, but we decided to have a bowl having won the toss, on the assumption that Day 3 may yet change.

We did well with the ball, but Muse has taken a couple of early wickets, including Tyas, to leave it quite well balanced.

We can tell you that BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking slow and low. Tough for everyone. Could be a low scoring match on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 8 (4 runs). BATTY SHRIMPERS: 18-2, runrate=2.25
Trail by 173 runs. (Southend 191-10)
Overs left today: 16
Owens 4-2-9-1
Nagendranath* 1 (2 balls)
White 9 (19 balls)

Last Wicket: Pollock c. Bishop b. Owens 7 (FOW: 17/2)

DIBS DIPPERS (4th) v Marsh Harriers (6th)

A game Mrs BB really needs to win, if she doesn't want to be looking over her shoulder towards the end of the season.

We can tell you that Marsh Harriers won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 12 (3 runs). Marsh Harriers: 37-3, runrate=3.08
Trail by 204 runs. (DIBS DIPPERS 241-10)
Overs left today: 15
Eagles 6-2-20-2
Blizzard* 19 (24 balls)
Tsietsi 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Benitez lbw b. Eagles 7 (FOW: 37/3)

A slow day for me but finally managed to bowl opps out for 235. In theory his bowling attack is not that strong so I should get close to max batting points but an early wicket lost has given me the willies. 11-1 at close

We scrambled our way to 292-8, zero from our 7 and 8 but an excellent 13 from worthless Crossley took us to a 3rd batting point. No point giving away another bowling point so we declared and have made an early breakthrough. Draw looks the likely outcome though.

End of Over 6 (4 runs). Queens Park CC: 13-1, runrate=2.17
Trail by 279 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 292-8)
Overs left today: 104
Gulzar 3-0-6-1
Shabangu* 7 (21 balls)
Hartburn 3 (8 balls)

Last Wicket: Darcy c. Lamey b. Gulzar 3 (FOW: 5/1)

Jeez follow on a real possibility - these are my last batsmen

End of Over 28 (2 runs). ShrimperZone Vets CC: 63-5, runrate=2.25
Trail by 172 runs. (Bumbles Allstars*235-10)
Overs left today: 86
Fondse 7-3-8-2

Good time for Healy to hit a career best. Underperforming exceptional/exquisite soon to pop primary

If I can get within 50 I will be delighted.

End of Over 49 (3 runs). ShrimperZone Vets CC: 148-5, runrate=3.02
Trail by 87 runs. (Bumbles Allstars*235-10)
Overs left today: 65
Ward 11-1-24-2
Healy* 46 (63 balls)
Adriaan 43 (91 balls)
Last Wicket: Westcarr b. Fondse 30 (FOW: 62/5)
48.6 . Ward to Adriaan

Considering it's sunny today I'm very happy. Wonder what happened if I'd got my call right? Actually, looking at the way they're batting I'll stick with what I did

The tail follows their next wicket. Hopefully we can polish off quickly and build a sizeable overnight lead.

End of Over 50 (Maiden). Queens Park CC: 144-6, runrate=2.88
Trail by 148 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 292-8)
Overs left today: 60
Nadeeka 8-1-26-0
Prue* 4 (14 balls)
Legg 1 (8 balls)

Last Wicket: Mcallister b. Digana 39 (FOW: 143/6)

From where we were that was disappointing, only had one more partnership to break and they put on 70 odd.

Need some productive overs tonight.

The players are off the field for the change of innings.

End of Over 87 (Maiden). Queens Park CC: 244-10, runrate=2.80
Trail by 48 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 292-8)
Overs left today: 23
Digana 23-3-52-6
Cartwright* 1 (12 balls)

Sixth wicket partnership made 113. Last 4 wickets 1 run. I have an intriguing day tomorrow. Opps are adrift so need a win. They are currently 177 ahead with 5 wickets in hand. I need a win to keep promo hopes alive. Currently set sunny on dusty tomorrow though that could change. I do tend to bat better second innings. Im guessing they'll want 80 overs at me leaving me with around 280 to win. Intriguing.

53-1 for in reply so 101 clear. Declaration set for 230 which should be enough to secure the draw. PCH today so may not get there anyway. Could be an interesting day.

Game on !

End of Over 56 (Maiden). Bumbles Allstars: 121-7, runrate=2.16 (1st Inn: 235-10)
Lead by 180 runs. (ShrimperZone Vets CC*176-10)
Overs left today: 105
Donaldson 12-4-30-2
Challinor* 11 (20 balls)
Ward 0 (1 balls)
Last Wicket: Fondse st. Healy b. Donaldson 0 (FOW: 121/7)
55.6 . Donaldson to Ward
* * Ward leaves one pitching outside off.
55.5 W Donaldson to Fondse
* * Fondse charged towards Donaldson like a rhino on heat, only to miss the ball and have Healy whip off the bails. Out!
55.4 W Donaldson to Townsend
* * Townsend drives expansively at a wide one and inside-edges into his timbers.

Need to bat better than first innings. Wish I'd set defensive now !

End of Over 61 (Maiden). Bumbles Allstars: 124-10, runrate=2.03 (1st Inn: 235-10)
Lead by 183 runs. (ShrimperZone Vets CC*176-10)
Overs left today: 100
Blinkhorn 10-3-23-3
Allsopp* 1 (14 balls)

Sunny weather in Essex today, so should chase this down without too many problems. Looks like it was very good toss to win :winking:

End of Over 59 (Maiden). Southend: 138-9, runrate=2.34 (1st Inn: 191-10)
Lead by 122 runs. (BATTY SHRIMPERS 207-10)
Overs left today: 95
Wilkey 18-6-45-6
Doolan* 39 (106 balls)
Hohsinuddin 0 (1 balls)

Last Wicket: Kearney c. Pollock b. Wilkey 0 (FOW: 138/9)

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB's declaration target is 250, so looks like she'll have about 90 overs to bowl them out.

DIBS DIPPERS v Marsh Harriers

DIBS DIPPERS have resumed their innings.

Pitch: uneven/cracked

End of Over 83 (2 runs). DIBS DIPPERS: 240-6, runrate=2.89 (1st Inn: 241-10)

A perfect days cricket

They were 100-9 at the end of yesterday, first ball today, last wicket taken, and £54k in the bank.. perfec'!

Arsecandles, Lamo's slothlike run rate means we won't get many overs at them.

End of Over 47 (Maiden). ShrimperZone CC: 112-2, runrate=2.38 (1st Inn: 292-8)
Lead by 160 runs. (Queens Park CC 244-10)
Overs left today: 86
Dugdale 10-3-12-0
Cunningham* 14 (31 balls)
Lamey 31 (135 balls)

Last Wicket: Guneratne c. Gooding b. Prue 51 (FOW: 96/2)

Overs left today: 69
Shipperley 4-0-19-0
Jefferson* 23 (27 balls)

Muse set us 139 in the end, and we're doing well in the chase.
