FC - Match 7

Should declare during lunch.

The players are off the field for tea.

End of Over 112 (18 runs). Southend United: 413-5, runrate=3.69

Joost* 43 (110 balls)
Hulse 123 (143 balls)
Last Wicket: Gichki c. Islam b. Tomlinson 12 (FOW: 288/5)

Big big trouble here, we just pipped their total but their two opening lambs are putting runs on so we're going to struggle on day 3.

End of Over 10 (12 runs). Purple Dinosaurs: 30-0, runrate=3.00 (1st Inn: 230-10)
Lead by 23 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 237-10)
Overs left today: 40
Ryan 5-1-24-0
Howell* 10 (33 balls)
Binnington 16 (27 balls)

End of Over 66 (4 runs). Napster's XI: 304-2, runrate=4.61
Trail by 26 runs. (Hammer Time 330-10)

Shah* 79 (152 balls)
Perry 33 (31 balls)

Last Wicket: Allan c. Hook b. Tembo 127 (FOW: 248/2)

Any chance of winning is disappearing rapidly. A draw will probably see us drop to second as the team behind won in one day.

End of Over 26 (7 runs). Purple Dinosaurs: 64-0, runrate=2.46 (1st Inn: 230-10)
Lead by 57 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 237-10)
Overs left today: 24
Schofield 5-3-9-0
Howell* 20 (80 balls)
Binnington 33 (76 balls)

Can't remember if I changed my declaration figure or not...

End of Over 83 (2 runs). Napster's XI: 381-2, runrate=4.59
Lead by 51 runs. (Hammer Time 330-10)
Overs left today: 23
Futcher 14-2-55-0
Perry* 68 (73 balls)
Shah 117 (213 balls)

Last Wicket: Allan c. Hook b. Tembo 127 (FOW: 248/2)

WOO AND HOO INDEEDY !

Badly timed client meeting and though I tried hard to keep the iPhone going it was hard whilst doing a presentation. Still I was much cheered to see a comfortable 7 wicket win spearheaded by Mckie. This actually keeps alive slim hopes of survival but on reality I will be relying on opps to field weaker teams. I may well have consigned todays opponent to relegation. 5th place woo !

One down but we're completely dependent on when they choose to declare now.

End of Over 38 (2 runs). Purple Dinosaurs: 93-1, runrate=2.45 (1st Inn: 230-10)
Lead by 86 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 237-10)
Overs left today: 12
Plummer 2-1-2-0
Binnington* 43 (112 balls)
Matthews 8 (10 balls)

Last Wicket: Howell c. Sandile b. Marriott 29 (FOW: 83/1)

Well not a very good today. They declared 450-7 and seemed to be going along okay at 207-2 but ended up at 280 ao. Following on we're 54-0 at stumps. It's gonna be an interesting end to the season. I'll be be 2nd tomorrow with Dale a close 3rd. I play Boinks Blunderers who are currently top next week. Dale, today's opposition play BB on the final day. It's gonna be tight at the top so i'm gonna concentrate my efforts on trying to win this league.

Top Order: proficient superb
Middle Order: strong superb
Lower Order: abysmal woeful
Seam Bowling: wonderful respectable
Spin Bowling: exceptional masterful
Fielding: feeble mediocre

And I'm still 6th but now only 21 points behind 4th :p

I have a theory that you need to change match orders each night rather than leaving them in the pre-match state. I intend to blow that theory out of the water in the next match :D

Took a couple of late wickets including the first innings centurion to leave them about 160 ahead with 6 wickets remaining. Should be an interesting last days play with dodgy weather forecast.

Well, I declared, but it's odds-on for a draw

The players are off the field for the change of innings.

End of Over 108 (4 runs). Napster's XI: 477-5, runrate=4.42

Hmmm, could have sworn I'd taken 4 wickets when I looked this morning! Oh well, no breakthrough this morning so we'll have to wait and see when they declare and see how many overs we have to survive. Anticipated it by setting everyone to defensive.

End of Over 59 (6 runs). Purple Dinosaurs: 193-3, runrate=3.27 (1st Inn: 230-10)
Lead by 186 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 237-10)

Matthews 65 (67 balls)

Last Wicket: Faaiz c & b. Sutherland 27 (FOW: 158/3)

Blimey, they're having a collapse of England proportions!

End of Over 9 (2 runs). Hammer Time: 20-4, runrate=2.22 (1st Inn: 330-10)
Trail by 127 runs. (Napster's XI 477-5 dec)
Overs left today: 99
Allan 5-1-11-1
Robinson* 1 (2 balls)
Forbes 1 (5 balls)

Last Wicket: Otoole c. Jefferson b. van Niekerk 3 (FOW: 18/4)

This is getting interesting, Mario takes his 7th wicket of the match and we're moving towards the tail. I'm torn between having an achievable target and burning off overs to play for the draw!

End of Over 72 (1 runs). Purple Dinosaurs: 233-5, runrate=3.24 (1st Inn: 230-10)
Lead by 226 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 237-10)
Overs left today: 88
Marriott 11-5-31-2
Hamilton* 12 (19 balls)
Mccammon 0 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Hutchison b. Marriott 25 (FOW: 233/5)

and yet you've set everyone to defensive! No confidence in your team, Mr B!

Southend United won by an innings and 136 runs.
Notts CCC won the toss and elected to bat.

It's very touch and go, at the moment the RRR is 2.75, no problem even on defensive. However every run and over that passes makes it a bit tougher. Either bowl them out before lunch or let them carry on batting as long as possible! We only really bat down to 6 so I'm not confident we can make it anyway however I see the weather has changed to sunny from the original forecast of cloudy and humid.
