Into last chance saloon territory. Me 5th away to 6th while 4th is away to top followed by me at home to 4th next week. Simple enough. I need to win both to survive or dominate a draw next week. On cracked so gone with 3 seamers and 2 spinners. 2 all rounders in that set up. If I fail to win then Hastings will probably go up for sale as I'm haemorrhaging wages. I only have a small squad so I'd also need to reconsider my entire training strategy. I'll cross that bridge when needed.

Hampshire Hornets v BATTY SHRIMPERS

Semi-BOT bashing this week. We need to pick up maximum points as we're still in relegation danger, so full-strength side playing.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIBS DIPPERS v Four Oaks Saints CC

Mrs BB has already won her division, and plays the side in 2nd. She's playing a full-strength side to try and boost morale, which has suffered a hit due to her recent OD defeats.

ShrimperZone CC v Seaside Special

With Gatley playing Dobcross in the final week and myself playing Muse, this really is my only chance to avoid relegation which is vital if I'm going to sustain my wage bill next season. A mixed bag of weather in Essex over the next three days:

Till 06:30 tomorrow: partially cloudy and humid
Till 06:30 on 17/03/2011: partially cloudy
18/03/2011: partially cloudy and windy

At least there's no sun as we need a result and obviously I'll be hoping to bowl first. It's the four all rounders in play for deep batting, HHH doesn't seem to want to get himself fit so is still stuck on invigorated fitness but he has to play. BFG on energetic. I had meant to change to a more wicket taking pitch but forgot so we're on dusty but we have three spinners to their two. Muse turned them over relatively easily last time out and I'll be hoping for a similar contribution from HHH as Raipur made for him then.

1. Southend............8 5 0 3 0 20 23 125
2. Angband Town.....8 4 2 2 0 18 24 106

FFS, toss lost and no surprise, we're on the ropes already.

On the plus side....

15/03/2011 Played a First Class match (5784706) and received £627,594 in gate receipts

Mid-table clash for my lot ahead of my crucial OD game this Friday. At full fitness and at full strength but weather doesn't look great and pitch is a bowlers one so i'd expect a result. Taken an early wicket and got £545,000 in the coffers! Massive week for me, safe in FC but a win will keep my "streak" going ahead of my must-win game on Friday!

Steadied the ship but now Dr Chandra has gone. Going to need a big patrnership somewhere along the line as batting points will be vital.

If Gatley can restrict Andband's points you should have the title wrapped up this week and OD promotion confirmed on Friday allowing you to give some trainees some experience next week :winking:

I'm having a moral dilemma on that one. I'd happily chuck it to keep you up, but that's not in the right spirit of the game. Promotion in OD won't be assured as I'll probably have a play-off.

Making heavy weather of bowling them out.

First batting point up at tea thanks to some boundary finding from BFG, thoroughly outscoring his skipper in this partnership. Still have Benji and Mario to come so hopefully can get to 240.

The players are off the field for tea.

End of Over 70 (3 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 200-6, runrate=2.86

Pleased to have got the second point but we've stopped scoring now. Would rather they get out rather than waste overs.

End of Over 89 (Maiden). ShrimperZone CC: 254-8, runrate=2.85
Overs left today: 21
Crow 25-6-61-3

EDIT: Sandy knows what needs to be done.

89.5 W Bancroft to Sandile
Sandile's walking! A needless dismissal there as he compulsively hooked at the short one. Sinethemba, having taken it at deep backward square, charges in to embrace Bancroft.

Going as well as can be expected, although I'd like to have bowled them out in less than 67 overs...
