FC Thread - Season 22

Bumflaps.

And that's the end of the match. Eppleton CC won by 8 wickets.

End of Over 51 (8 runs). Eppleton CC: 168-2, runrate=3.29 (1st Inn: 184-10)
Lead by 2 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 207-10 & 143-10)
Overs left today: 37
Crossley 10-0-31-1
Owens* 31 (49 balls)
Shotton-oza 46 (79 balls)

Last Wicket: Thay c. Nadeeka b. Crossley 45 (FOW: 90/2)

Jeez we are slowing down !!!!

FFS - this is going exactly the way of last season where I scored something like 1 run in 12 overs. In real life they'd be throwing the bat around.

Dot.dot.dot repeat. grrrrrrr!

22 runs 7 overs 7 wickets. Need 1 big over (not 1 in total as per last over)

End of Over 55 (9 runs). ShrimperZone Vets CC: 165-3, runrate=3.00 (1st Inn: 254-10)
Trail by 13 runs. (glamorgan-sa*237-10 & 195-10)

Overs left today: 6

come on !

Followed by a maiden then 1 run. FFS !

And another single. 11 from 3. Bloody stupid

Lesson learned (again). Never underestimate opps. I have at least 2 teams stronger than these opps. Little bit concerned about performance of the spinners but great to see Blinkhorn with mom 7 wicket haul in what surely is his last season as main strike bowler and Captain. Full strength FC here on in. Compromise in OD where worst case will be a playoff.

2nd heavy defeat in FC... i think the double promotion last year may have been a step too far. fortunately, i really don't care as we've signed Freddy and i'm now off to Bristol on sat.

Ok we're at the business end with 2 games that will indicate whether last years second was overachieving or not. I play away to an opp I can't beat in OD but always seem to beat in FC. He has already confirmed that his poor start to the FC season means he is full strength today. I've dropped a couple for PFL including Blinkhorn and gone with 4 bowlers. Time will tell how wise that was.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Gatley

It's all gone a bit pear-shaped in the last 10 mins. We were cruising at 171/3, but have had a bit of a collapse...

We can tell you that Gatley won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

End of Over 71 (4 runs). BATTY SHRIMPERS: 178-6, runrate=2.51
Overs left today: 39
Howard 15-2-37-2
Lindop* 0 (1 balls)
Motterham 5 (7 balls)

Last Wicket: Downing c. Eckhoff b. Hibbert 10 (FOW: 173/6)

Southend United v Phils hotspurs

We can tell you that Phils hotspurs won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

Let’s join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

End of Over 9 (3 runs). Phils hotspurs: 22-0, runrate=2.44
Trail by 123 runs. (Southend United 145-10)
Overs left today: 33
Lake 5-0-11-0
Goulding* 10 (31 balls)
Nauman 11 (23 balls)

I hate playing the Minnions. Three man team, two uber openers and one NT bowler. Last season the openers put on 215 and the bowler took 8-15 or similar. Slightly better this time round but if I ever want to beat them I need to get one of the openers cheaply and they both made 50 in quick time. Not really sure what to do tomorrow, not that it makes much difference as we won't be going up or down this season.

End of Over 36 (6 runs, 1lb). ShrimperZone CC: 94-3, runrate=2.61
Trail by 134 runs. (mighty minnions 228-10)
Gadsby 6-0-19-0
Wanless* 9 (11 balls)
Cunningham 25 (67 balls)
Last Wicket: Lamey st. Chorley b. De bruyns 28 (FOW: 79/3)

Historically they've always beaten, no thrashed me. Dare I dream?

End of Over 19 (2 runs). Napster's XI: 67-2, runrate=3.53 (1st Inn: 154-10)
Lead by 64 runs. (Tangerine11 157-10)
Overs left today: 70
Kulasekera 7-1-16-0
Mcandrew* 14 (46 balls)
Perry 35 (52 balls)
Last Wicket: Jefferson c. Morne b. Way 11 (FOW: 19/2)

Topsy turvy game! We lost two quick wickets to go to 122-5 then added over 100 for the 6th wicket to gain a small lead. They started ok but a quick burst removed both uber openers and we're now very much in the driving seat as they have a long old tail.

End of Over 22 (5 runs). mighty minnions: 67-4, runrate=3.05 (1st Inn: 228-10)
Lead by 50 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 245-10)
Overs left today: 36
Graham 2-0-6-0
May* 4 (5 balls)
Kobus 12 (27 balls)

Last Wicket: De bruyns Run Out 2 (FOW: 58/4)

Gates are going well thus far:
04/04/2012 Played a First Class match (7779783) and received £98,070 in gate receipts.
03/04/2012 Played a First Class match (7779783) and received £846,126 in gate receipts.

Somwhow managed to enforce the f/o despite only scoting 259 in our 1st inns. But it's a lot tougher 2nd time around.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Gatley

Gatley have resumed their innings.

Pitch: cracked/uneven

End of Over 37 (1 runs). Gatley: 88-1, runrate=2.38 (1st Inn: 109-10)
Trail by 62 runs. (BATTY SHRIMPERS 259-10)
Overs remaining today: 32
Wilkey 1-0-1-0
Bissell* 24 (61 balls)
Swartz 44 (108 balls)

Last Wicket: Sayce Run Out 10 (FOW: 32/1)
