Southend midfielder Kane Ferdinand called up to ROI under-19 squad for European Championships. Ferdinand will fly to Rome for pre-tourney training camp on July 10, tourney is in Bucharest July 20 - August 1

Guess this means he will miss the entire pre-season schedule.

Good or bad news?

Good for him, bad for us!

Too be fair, we have Ndiaye, Sawyer and Grant - I'd say we were well covered, plus arent we meant to be picking up another DM from League 2 very soon?

Good Thing.

Adds to his experience of the game which will benefit us in the long run. Plus there might be less of those pesky championship scouts in Bucharest. And as said above it's not like we're short of bodies in CM.

Looks like I will have to go and watch the games then as I live here. I will give some feedback.

Agreed.

It's great experience for the lad which can only benefit us, playing in a competitive tournament with Europe's best (in his age range). He's back in time for the season's start anyway. Good news.
