File Sharing programmes

What file sharing programmes do people use? I've used Kazaa in the past but everytime I put it on my PC it ends up f**king it up in someway.

Are there any better ones out there or ways to stop Kazaa f**king everything up?

Keep hunting Dave. Kaasa is full of viruses so well worth dropping like hot sh*t. News groups seem to be the way forward.

I've now started using a program called Warez. It's very good, fast downloads, and hasn't had all of its songs corrupted by the RIAA.

Well worth a try at least.

I use Kazaa Lite which is a hacked version of Kazaa with no ads or spyware. I only use it to get odd songs and music vids these days. Annoyingly the RIAA are putting more and more corrupt files on so it can take a few attempts to get the right version of a song.

For big downloads like Films, whole Albums and software I use bit torrent. You download the Torrent files from a website like suprnova.org or torrentz.com, you then open the torrent file in a Torrent Client (ABC and Nova Torrent are quite good) and the torrent then goes off looking for other people to download that file from.

I use Kazaa Lite and have never really had any probs. Kazaa (non lite version) is a nightmare - full of pop ups and other cr*p.

For movies and stuff, I get one of the lads from the office to source them for me - he's got a 1Mb DSL circuit (compared to my half meg) and just downloads movies all day long. He lent me Gothika on the other day.

I'll find out what he uses on Tuesday and let you know.

Badger.

Newsgroups - confusing to start with, but a godsend when running!!

I use Giganews which costs about £8.00 a month for 6gb downloads.

I'm currently using Shareaza now which has no spyware or other programmes and seems really good at finding what I want as well.

I always use Shareaza. Always find what I need, no spyware or adware. Rarely there are virused files in there, but a simple virus checker should sort them out.

Newsgroups are good too.

Kazaa Lite ++
no adware
no adverts
loads of bolt ons to get.....

anyone no a good anonymous internet bolt on, used the steganos one but no good with the ports used by Kazaa, like wise annoymous browser v4.0, good for IE but nothing else.

Use a dial up like BT Click that changes IP addresses everytime you dial up. Pretty much untraceable.

I thought ISPs were obliged to keep a log of what IP adresses are assigned to what customer for a the previous three months or so?

I believe the software uses proxy servers to re route information. A bit like using a mailing address so that no-one knows who Mr X at box no.444 is. All the ISP will see is that you connected to an IP at somewhere and all the routes thereafter are "hidden".... I think
