Films you've watched recently.

The dig - Netflix. Dramatised telling of the discovery of the Anglo Saxon treasure hoard at Sutton Hoo. Stars Ralph Finnes, Carey Mulligan and Lily James. Really good watch 8/10.

We watched it last night too. Really enjoyed it. We also visited Sutton Hoo a few years ago, fascinating place.

Finally caught up with Speven Soderberg's 2011 Contagion yesterday. It's a powerful film well acted and directed. What's amazing I think is how much they got right rather than what they got wrong.

I didn't watch it when it was on this week, again, BUT read that The Wild Bunch is 50 years old now.
An epic film imo, and one that spawned lots of mercenary, against the odds type of modern movie, crossing over from traditional soft story Westerns like Magnificent 7 towards the Vietnam era type.

Love The Wild Bunch.Epic Western.
See Silence of the lambs is 30 years old now too.

Remember seeing it in a W/E cinema the first Saturday night it opened.Electrifying atmosphere.

Another vote for Paul Greengrass's News of the World with Tom Hanks.(Though I'm sure it's a much better watch at the cinema than on Netflix). Saw PG say in tv interview that Hanks "is the James Stewart of our generation." He may well be right.High praise indeed.

What’s the longest amount of time you have gone without watching a film?
