Films you've watched recently.

The Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper take on A Star is Born.

Now embarrassingly never having watched either of the other ones i thoroughly enjoyed it. :Thumbs up:

Only seen the 1954 (very good) and 1976 (awful) films but not this latest version which long overdue a viewing. The 1937 film is supposedly a good watch.

Had a game of a scrabble with the missus tonight and stuck on 'yesterday' in the background. Great movie and easy to sing along to!

Watched that too, great film

Can’t believe that Jenny Agutter is nearly 70 now and Sally Thomsett (who played her little sister) is 71 !

Good old Bernard Cribbins is still around too, 93 now !!
I never knew Sally Thomsett was 20 when she played Phyllis!

after last night's joy of seeing Sean Connery in "The Last Crusade" - tonight's showing on 4Seven is the tepid Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

"Boiling Point" (Stephen Graham) @ The Curzon Aldgate----A wonderful British new release.

The Gentlemen, absolutely brilliant! Another gem from Guy Richie. Nice to see Hugh Grant not playing his usual role of the British bumbling idiot! I highly recommend this film if you like films like Snatch, Lock Stock and RocknRolla.

Indeed.Saw this here pre-lockdown IIRC:There were a couple of disappointed Hugh Grant fans a few rows in front of me -clearly expecting another 4 Weddings -who left afer half an hour or so.Always pays to read a review or two.

Highwaymen, on Netflix, 7/10. A story of the pursuit of Bonnie and Clyde, but from the side of the main lawmen side, with Texas Rangers played by Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson. Gritty and far removed from the Warren Beatty tale.
The credits have it based on factual event and persons.

Saw Joel Cohen's Macbeth yesterday.Excellent film .Up there with Orson Welles' great (1948) version ,IMO. Nice to see so many of my fellow senior citizens (and a smattering of younger folk) at a packed cinema showing.Feel sorry for anyone who sees this for the first time on Apple's streaming service.

Munich - The edge of war (Netflix) Stars George Mackay (1917) and Jeremy Irons. Set in Munich, it follows the discussions between Neville Chamberlain and Adolf Hitler with a sub plot of Mackay trying to convince Irons that Hitler is not to be believed. Very well acted and very tense all the way through. Based on a Novel by Robert Harris. 8/10
