Films you've watched recently.

The only film I liked him in is 'The Grifters'. Quite an enjoyable film about grifters of course. What they get up to, and how things can easily go wrong or right. Anjelica Huston is very believable in it. A Scorsese film 1990.
The Grifters was directed by Stephen Frears.

I also liked John Cusack in Gross Point Blank (and I liked High Fidelity).

Watcher is absolutely crap
Army of Darkness is brilliant
Bodies bodies bodies is better than I thought
Rhyme or Die, a short, was OK
Deliverance is terrible

Saw El 47 (The 47 bus) earlier.Agit Prop for some but it's a pretty good watch and one to look out for when it gets subtitled in English (sometime around Xmas I imagine).Set in May 1978 (and some 20 years before) the action takes place in the Torre Baro arrea of Barna near the (civil war)bunkers (where our older daughter has a place in Guinardo.)and on the other side of Parque Guell and concerns the "kidnapping " of the 47 bus and its inaugeral journey to the Torre Baro barrio or district.

Watched The Postman with Kevin Costner for the umpteenth time. Never tire of it, great film.

Saw Ridley Scott's Alien on BBC1 last night & in the early hours.First time I've ever seen it and I wasn't very impressed despite loving The Duellists & Blade Runner on release.Thought some of the eatly scenes echoed Kubrick's 2001 and good to see some strong female characters, especially Sigouney Weaver but that was about it.Guess I'm not much of a sci-fi fan unless we're talking Forbidden Planet or similar.

The first sequel Aliens is a much better film. I liked the prequels Prometheus & Covenant as well. Not seen Romulus yet. I think I am one of the very few people who liked the first Alien v Predator film 🤣

Ungentlemanly Warfare. I will give it 5/10 for the first hour, which was all I watched.
Good cast and obviously lots of money spent; but poor script and story line less realistic than a Wonder Woman war story.

Watched a very good film on C4 last night , kept me up to 1am !!!
The Last Duel director Ridley Scott starring Matt Damon
A true story about the last ever duel to the death in 1370s in France in four parts of 45 mins, three stories from the people involved and their side of the story and lastly the fight to the death
9.5/10
