To edit for accuracyThe sun goes up, the sun goes down, Ron Martin fails to pay the necessary dues to run a football club. Same situation as for the last 24 years.
So still not a fit and proper owner then?To edit for accuracy
The sun goes up, the sun goes down, Ron Martin pays the necessary dues to run a football club (although sometimes late). Same situation as for the last 24 years.
Somehow we remain *not* one of the 30+% of league football clubs over time to have experienced administration or worse...
None of which I understand diminishes the pain that much...
That seems a very fair assessment of the overall position . We need to budget for a lower level of income . We must hope expenditure budgets are also reduced . If Tom fails to do this we can only expect the cash flow problems to worsen as the months go by .I wonder what the Club have budgeted for by way of attendances to home matches next season? It appears that the cost of living crisis is having an impact on leisure spending. In 2022 attendences are down at Cricket, Horse Racing and Wimbledon tennis. Unfortunately football will probably also suffer. Season ticket sales are seemingly well down although the credit card fiasco hasn't helped.
Who has any idea what that is- certainly not the Prem, EFL or NL whose track record of allowing far worse than our own less than perfect owner drive clubs into administration of even out of business. Is the Saudi Gov a more fit and proper owner? Are human rights abuses better than the sin of not having sufficient ££…So still not a fit and proper owner then?
If you can't pay ALL of your financial obligations when they fall due whilst operating the football side of the business as budgeted, then you are quite simply not a fit and proper person for football club ownership.Who has any idea what that is- certainly not the Prem, EFL or NL whose track record of allowing far worse than our own less than perfect owner drive clubs into administration of even out of business. Who knows. For now we hope for the best as nothing will change re ownership for now..
Not about being the perfect owner. It's about having the resources to run the club....... clearly Martin doesn't.Who has any idea what that is- certainly not the Prem, EFL or NL whose track record of allowing far worse than our own less than perfect owner drive clubs into administration of even out of business. Then to my point the Prem, EFL and NL have repeatedly over the years been happy to have such people running football clubs- one wonders if at some point those running the game might be culpable. The vast majority of football clubs lose money so the model itself leaves clubs at the mercy of such owners and their ability and willingness to bail clubs out week to week…If you can't pay ALL of your financial obligations when they fall due whilst operating the football side of the business as budgeted, then you are quite simply not a fit and proper person for football club ownership.
