Firewalls, anti virus etc.

After moving house I have now re-subscribed to blueyonder.

Because I am using a new laptop to connect to the internet I need to install new firewall, anti virus/spyware software before some Russian hacker targets my machine.

I have installed the trial version of zone alarm pro as a stop gap measure but can anyone recommend any free software that is up to the job?

I've been using Microsoft's own AntiSpyware software as well as Spybot Search & Destroy & Ad-Aware thanks to recommendations from people on here for the past few months. Still got Norton Anti-Virus that was preinstalled running too.

Also, found that Firefox as a browser cuts down annoying pop-ups.

No doubt, some of the more technical people on here will add to what I've said!
