First team coach/es

Fair play to Ian Hendon for coming in to explain and apologise in person. So many people these days wouldn’t have done.

Surely we can still appoint one of the others who applied?
Depends how close a second/third etc and if still available but you would have thought so...maybe a blessing in disguise ..or maybe not. Let's see.

Apparently Timlin was offered the job initially, but the wage was very low and not financially viable to leave his Dulwich Hamlet role and other work that he is doing.

In which case going down the Cox route MAY make a lot of sense. He has said if necessary he would play another season, he probably financially can live with what we will pay for coach+player as he can probably afford to invest in the next step in his career.
He has his UEFA badges. And as an additional striker will deliver a few goals for sure. Lets see..

Quite a few people on this board with much more knowledge than myself, I have indicated that Simon Cox undermined team spirit with his off-field antics whilst at Southend. The funny thing is that quite a few opinionated, difficult players often make very effective coaches and managers. Maybe, as the old saying goes, "poachers make good gamekeepers."

Ian Hendon, eh?

Anyhoo, what I really came here to say was that he is an absolutely miserable c*** of a man with a truly awful wife who does not stand for the slightest criticism (imagined or otherwise) of hubby. So do follow her on social media as she really does enjoy telling anyone and everyone to f*** off.

That may explain the "personal reason" for Mr Hendon giving backword.....she has told the whole club and town of Southend to f*** off.
