Anyone else see it?
Not suprisingly we didn't get any of our players in the regional team although if Barney had stayed the consensus was that he would have made the mix.
Feeling was that Tilly might well be off to a new job soon.
Amusing to see the Chairman in his "see you later" rebuke to fans at the end, in the highlights of the season.:'(

Most of the comments on us came from Perry Groves. E.g. Barnard was sold for £1m, without the £680k from the deal signed today we would get wound up next season (nothing mentioned regarding Sainsburys / FF having any say in this).

Unfortunately after these insights Perry went on to say he thought England were going to win the world cup

Actually I think that was a pearl of wisdom from Matt Holland.

It may have been. It probably backs up my view though that the 'experts' knowledge of SUFC on that program is not great, unless of course they get on a SUFC based guest such as Paul Clark.

I have seen Barnard's fee quoted as £700,000 in print in a number of places. This, of course, is more in keeping with what you might expect to get for the Division's top scorer. Given that the fee was technically undisclosed what would be the merits of perpetuating an understanding that the fee was much lower? Certainly there would be little criticism of the deal at that level but there again people might have wondered where the money had gone. I never know what to believe these days.

You wouldn't perhaps be implying that the fee was trousered by the Chairman(or one of his 28) companies by any chance? ;)

No, I wouldn't. You may be inferring it; I wouldn't dream of implying it.

When I hear conflicting information, I'm often not sure which to believe (especially if one source is the Echo !!)
