Ok so we've all heard the foghorn at the end of the Pier. But what is the other fog horn I hear these days? There are definitely two sounding these days - the normal high frequency one which goes on some frequency I don't understand, and another booming one. I'm fairly certain the high frequency one is the one at the end of the Pier, but where does the booming one come from? Nobody I speak to seems to know and it hasn't always existed!

Anyone know where that extra fog horn comes from?

As Smiffy has stated the Boom in normally from the firing test range at Foulness to warn people/boats they are testing.

I heard the BOOM one the other day. And according to my girlfriend who works at the airport, it is what they use to scare birds away from the airport
