Hello guys how are you all, I've just joined this forum as I am about to start a Southend series on FM22 on my YouTube channel & I'm hoping to find out if the finances in game are in any way close to what the situation is IRL.

the financial report in game says that the club only has a net debt of £877,826 does that seem true to life? also the financial prediction for the next few years seems to be very hopeful I.E the club is predicted to have almost 10 million in the bank after 3 seasons. Is that realistic?

if anyone knows anything about the real world finances of the club I would love to have a chat.
If anybody wants the link to my channel then I'm happy to send it, just don't want to post it here in case that is considered self promo.

thanks for reading guys

Our net debt is definitely more than that, although a lot of it is owed to companies owned by our chairman, so possibly SI are ignoring that and have tried to come up with a figure we owe to other parties.

I can't see any way we'd have 10m in the bank within 3 seasons, maybe the game is trying to simulate our club's financial ineptitude and so has given you an incorrect financial prediction, we tend to spend money we don't have and then somehow get caught off guard when we realise there's actually nothing left in the bank.

Thanks for getting back to me, For a realistic figure would you maybe suggest adding in the debt owed to the chairman's companies? as although it might not be payable it might still bring down that financial projection and I'm guessing he still has the option if he so chooses to call in the debt if he was to sell up so that might need replicating in the game?

If you wanted to do that then the last accounts we released were for July 2019, where our debt was recorded at £17.4m.

The debt is around £20m but is all owed to the chairman’s companies (we don’t have any other debts as basically nobody else is willing to lend us money). The chairman has indicated that he’ll wipe it all off if he sells the club/develops the new stadium.

I can see the debt increasing by up to £10m in the next 3 years which would be funded by the chairman’s companies/ground redevelopment and might later be written off.

I don't see how the club will have £10m cash in the bank in 3 yrs time. We run at a loss every year.
Yep that's what I thought so I wanted to see what the real story was, maybe I'll include the debts owed to the chairman and see how that changes things before I get started with the series

Every club runs at a loss, the 3 year timeline almost ties in with the new stadium being completed and the investment the developments could unlock
