Formula One 2022

Apparently raining harder. I'm not expecting any proper racing laps.
If they don’t, don’t renew the contract for next year. The cars are too big for the track you don’t get many if any real overtaking opportunities. F1 has outgrown the track.

Agreed. It isn't even the fact that overtaking is extremely unlikely, there is no chance of wheel to wheel action.

If they do keep it, have it as like a "special event" or exhibition event. Reverse the championship table, each driver has an outlap and a push lap. Driver with the fastest time gets 10 points down to 10th fastest time who gets one point.

Turning into a decent race. Top 4 had a jumble up and Russell was putting in faster lap times than those further up. Could be an interesting end depending on strategy.

Red flag now, surprised it wasn't done straight after the crash as it looked bad and the barrier damaged.

The restart will be good. Leclerc did not sound happy!

Yes seemed obvious that it needed at least a full safety car, possibly red flag, to give the marshalls time on the track between cars to clear up. Why they bothered with virtual safety car no idea.

Lots changing to mediums, including Red Bulls and Mercedes. Ferrari sticking with hards. This will be interesting.

Red Bull get their strategy right. So many laps where you could throw a towel over the top four. Any other track and there would have been some good wheel to wheel racing. Unfortunately, Sainz spent 15 minutes trying not end up in the back of Perez.

Glad Perez won after last weekend. He is now 15 points behind Max and would have been only 3 if he had won last weekend.

Monaco just need to knock down most of the Hotels and Casinos on the Monaco seafront and marina and build a proper F1 track, they must have the megabucks to do that.

(Sorted)

Thought the Baku race was decent, but was a shame about both Ferrari cars bombing out. Was set for an interesting finish with strategies, but ended with quite an easy 1-2 for Red Bull and no real challenge for the win.

Perez had an amazing start and smashed the first several laps, but seems he hammered his tyres too much too early. Weird how he was seen last year as an average qualifier and someone so reliable on his tyres, but last few races his qualifying has been amazing, but tyres have fallen off quicker than his team-mates and Ferrari.

George Russell sneaking in with a podium and glad to see Danny Ric improve his performance, even if he spent most of the first stint protecting Norris from a determined Gasly.

Mercedes and McLaren need to sort out their bouncing as they were so slow on the straights compared to other cars, especially the Alpines who were like a rocket down there at nearly 350km/h with DRS and a slip stream.

Judging by the new regs that are being mooted I bet Toto wishes Lewis hadn't moaned so much at Baku.

I think the intention was to get a change in the rules that helped them out but it seems if you haven't got bouncing/porpoising issues then you stay as you are but if you are bouncing then you have to increase your ride height.

Net effect will be that Red Bull stay as they are, Ferrari might slow a bit and Mercedes will slow a lot more.

This is what I was thinking, because the Red Bulls obviously are having no issues at all, changing the rules causing issues to them wouldn't make sense, it fixable simply through adjustments, it just makes you slow, they just don't want to do it

The mercedes looks lethal, the thing is un drive able. Bouncing down the straight at nearly 200mph, there will be an accident soon
