Loads of stuff in the French media about Golden Balls possibly playing for PSG,who typically won the French "winter" Championship after Montpellier slipped up,away.MHSC now face a difficult period with two or three of their best players on African Nations Cup duty.

Watch out for Montpellier's Remy Caballa, who's just made France's squad after Ribery pulled out.Montpellier turned down 8 million euros for him from Newcastle last season.Useful player.Should play some part in France's friendly tonight against Jamaca.

Footnote .He didn't actuallly get on, though, (or perhaps because) France won 8-0.

Way to go England.

French L1 kicked off yesterday.I was sorry not not to see Montpellier's first home game against Bordeaux, which they lost 0-1.

Could be quite a difficult season for MHSC:

Although I passed on the opportunity to see Montpellier play on Saturday night (they won 3-1 against Bastia) I'm glad to see they're currently 7th in the table and have a good chance of qualifying for the Europa league this season, (athough they'll probably lose their game in hand away to 4th placed Monaco, tomorrow night.

Allez Montpellier.
