Breaking News Gard out for season with cruciate injury

Bloody hell. Poor, poor lad. Heart breaking stuff after coming back from his last injury. Really hope this doesn’t finish him, but that’s two very serious knee injuries to come back from ?

It is such bad luck and honestly it must be so hard to take that both injuries were sustained in that tinpot competition.

Terrible time in his career to see it happen again. Sadly for any young player these years can never be made up. Wish him all the best and hope he gets good support in the long winter of lockdown.

Devastating.

Even if he comes back from this again that's two years' development lost to injury with covid wiping out another six months' development.

He's going to need all the mental strength he can muster.
If I were him, I would take another year on top while doing something else, just to make sure he's maxed the rehab to his knees.
Have paused for the best part of a couple of minutes trying to think of anyone who's come back from two back-to-back serious knee injuries.
Still thinking...

Paul McGrath.

Was it the same knee? I reckon that could be game over for the poor kid in terms of a professional career. Wish him all the best.

Alan Shearer?

Devastating news and such a shame.

Lewis is a player I genuinely felt had / has the ability to make a career for himself.

As Yorkie says that’s just over two years missed through injury and another 6 months due to covid at the most crucial time for any players development....

However he has already displayed incredible strength of character to come back once so he has shown he is capable of it and if he can knuckle down again he will have shown all that’s needed.

I listened to an interview with Arsenal Wenger this week and he said the most important attribute isn’t talent or dedication it’s the stamina in the dedication....those with stamina in their dedication levels will get there eventually.

I’m sure Lewis has that and I’m sure the club will give him time to show it.

From what I can gather there won’t be a single person with a bad word to say about the lad so everyone will be rooting for him.

Lonely and brutal career far far away from the media and public perception of a footballer....

Rob Kiernan?? On a serious note I believe that Radamel Falco had a couple of serious knee injuries.

All the best to Lewis. Hopefully he'll come back stronger.

Does that free up a space with the registrations?
