Cross made a scoring debut for AFC Hornchurch in their opening day 2-1 victory over Enfield Town yesterday.

Former Youth keeper, Dale Brightly also made his debut for the club, whilst Jamie Southon was another Ex Shrimper in the Urchins line up.

I shall be visiting Bridge Avenue next Saturday for their game with Wivenhoe and I shall report back on them next week.

Isn't it about time Garry Cross was made an MBE for his services to football (ie injuring Craig Bellamy for a season)?

Hopefully a few premier$hite defenders will take note of how to shut up the mouthy little ****.

Never has the call "put him in the stands" been so richly deserved, although Christiano Ronaldo would run him close for sheer objectionableness.

Oh and before Derek Payne starts wanting a MBE as well, bitch-slapping is hardly worthy of one, although Speedie was a worthy target.

Tonights Echo reports Cross scored a hat-trick for Hornchurch in a cup game v Canvey.

All this Derek Payne "chinned" David Speedie stuff is such nonsense (as you allude to HKB.) Anyone who was there at the time will know it wasn't a punch, nor even a slap - he raised his hand in more of a stroking gesture and Speedie dived to the floor seekig to get Payne sent off, which he achieved. There was no punch involved at all unfortunately. I say unfortunately as never was a man more deserving of a proper kicking than Speedie....

Fry did his "Birmingham are sleeping giants" interiew just after that game IIRC...
