Just bought a 2 bed mid terrace house in Southchurch. Had new combi boiler installed and have finally got round to sorting out the Gas and Electricity suppliers. Have a 3 week old boy so heating currently on low/medium 24/7 and with this missus home I guess our electricity consumption is considerably higher than that of two professionals living together.

Have had a look at uSwitch, its saying First Utility, is the cheapest in Southend. Anyone with them and having anything to say about them?

Not fussed if I get Gas and Electricity from separate suppliers just want whatever is going to work out cheapest for our needs.

So if anyone has just switched Any advice on cheap suppliers and tariffs for Southend/Southchurch area would be hugely appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Apologies for bumping this up, but this sort of advice would be invaluable to me at the moment!

I know it’s boring but if anyone’s particularly pleased with their current gas and electricity deal and live in Southend id love to hear!

Thanks

I use Atlantic Gas & Energy. To be hinest I don't think there's a great deal in the pricing, but with these people you get one free month in December for both utilities.

Gas = £85per month, Leccy =£70per month, so it's worth it I think.

Jesus H Christ!

I pay £70 for both with Npower and I've got a 3 bedroom house, central heating.

yes but we know that you commies drink vodka to keep yourselves warm whilst sleeping in Socialist News back editions.

Seriously though, that did seem expensive. We pay about £140 per month with elec and gas on all day for the family, through Eon, for a five bed central heated. We do make sure that the heating is on timer though, and its a newish house so probably more efficient

Unsurprisingly, we use a lot of gas - quite a big, old house, which doesn't help. Probably not energy efficient really, and making some changes is on the agenda next year. Also, my missus must have been a lizard in a former life. She can't function unless the house is like a sauna.

She's out tonigt so I've turned down all of the radiators and I'm still wearing shorts. I'm not joking!

i think age of house is a big thing, a mate with a 2 bed stone built cottage pays the same as us for similar usage

so £15 pm more. It's not much in the grand scheme of things and I get 1 month free. Sounds about the same to me.

but i get clubcard points to spend at Goldsmiths  might sound silly, but it adds up to about £200 of jewellery vouchers (recently cashed in!!)

I don't. As it happens, I don't collect any points / offers etc. Why is that I wonder? Laziness? I don't think about these things. Perhaps I should.

I thought I was being quite savvy with my 1 free month.

I'm exactly the same, but the wife keeps them in our filing - amazing how they stack up so quickly. Only useful of course if you are going to spend them on something "Tesco" approved like Goldsmiths, or a theme park etc.

ps EastBlack were you the guy after an IWC spitfire? I know of a white face, brown strap one going for £2k if interested...

I am with Southern Electric for Gas and Electric and pay £35 Pm for Gas and £75 pm for Electric.

3 bed semi, circa 1985 and 2 kids. Lights always left on etc etc.

Yes, I was thanks. I got one, black face, black strap for £2150. Needs new strap, although it's not vital, from a fella at work. he just bought a Daytona and needed the cash. Pretty pleased with it. I think it's a great watch. Thanks for the show.

Well priced at £2150, I thought £2k flat was a bargain for a 6 month old watch. I'm currently after an 18k Daytona or sub for myself, but would need to part with a few watches to justify it, hence the new additions to my sale thread in the marketplace!

Better let this thread get back on topic...

This one is about 18mths. Used daily, so few scuffs on side casing. Still pretty pleased though. Next on list is the GMT master 2. Or it's all in for a Daytonna, although I'm not sure I could get away with that just yet.

Thanks guys that’s great.

Didn’t know you can earn club card points through E-on. Already have a savvy tesco credit card we use to earn extra points for some super tesco prizes (or just some free grub!).

Ceramic or normal GMT? I nearly bought an older Coke style one with spare pepsi and black inserts - not too keep on the pepsi myself though. The Ceramics are still going for top dollar, but the model before is normally available for around £2.5k.

I'm in two minds whether to sell my Seadweller, its a V series so one of 200, and as rare as rocking horse ****, would certainly go a long way towards the daytona!!
