Documentary telling the story of the reserved young football prodigy from Belfast who became a global superstar, but whose career was blighted by his battle with the pressures of fame. The film reveals how the player dubbed El Beatle helped Manchester United to win two league titles and the European Cup, but his extravagant lifestyle led to various problems, most notably alcoholism.

Will give that a look !
Familiar story; the rise and fall of a global icon - the Maradona Film on C4 recently is also a great watch.

Once met Bestie, albeit briefly at an England game at Wembley, this was in the early 90's and he was totally trolleyed as usual, looked an absolute wreck but still had some tasty blonde in tow !!

He slurred something, not sure what and he staggered off

Had a drink with him many years ago in the Castle pub on the seafront. His wife Angie is from Southend and we knew each other from our youth.
