Good news

Definitely good news but it's important to note that this is based on the likelihood of dying if you catch Covid, not the rate at which people are dying (which is why the line is highest in July 2020 even though the daily deaths back then were lower than they are now). Due to Covid spreading easier than flu it's still killing more people than the flu does (especially this year since measures people have taken to avoid Covid have meant less people are catching flu than usual). Covid no longer looks like something you need to personally worry much about if you're a healthy adult but I'd still be cautious around vulnerable people if you think you have it.

Was reading today about how covid can cause the brain to shrink - I think the scientists are thinking its the cause of long covid. Impact on the brain is probably alsobthe cause of loss of smell. There appears some concern on the medium and long term impacts due to the brain damage.

Concerned for my teenage daughter who had covid in June and still hasn't recovered sense of smell and taste.
