Southend winger Mark Gower admits he has not yet produced his best form this season.
Gower was voted Shrimpers' player of the year last season, but an injury at the end of that campaign has stopped him making a flying start to this one.

He said: "I've not been playing as well as I know I can.

"The operation on my knee has meant it's taking me time to get that sharpness back, but I suppose I'm also lacking confidence at the moment."

That's rich, I seem to remember you stealing my exclusive story about Mark Rawle's return to Roots Hall in the summer, which in turn was stolen by Sky/BBC.

Tsk.

Guess what...?  At law, as in life, there's no such thing as a "two wrongs make a right" defence...

They haven't stolen it. if you look on the right of the page, there is a link to the official site.

The BBC have done exactly what we do when we copy articles off the official site.

And you can see that interview in full with Mark Gower on BluesTV on Saturday
