Greatest Essex Overseas Player

After retiring, Trevor Bailey tempted Laker back to play for Essex.

(It morphed away from just overseas bowlers to the best players to have also played for Essex)

The two remaining ODI players are overseas though.

Yes I vaguely remember Jim Laker playing at Chalkwell Park.

BTW I didn`t notice that the thread had morphed away from overseas players:Dizzy:

It’s the pie chucker isn’t it?
I kind of knew it was, just didn’t want to say it!
At one time he was officially the sixth best bowler in the world!
I must have been number seven then!

Yes, it's ***** ********. God knows how but he took 94 ODI wickets for South Africa at 24.96 I would say he boosted his average against Netheralands and Zimbabwe but he went wicketless against the Dutch and at 42 against Zim. Against England he averaged 164. His 22 wickets against India must surely have attracted the attention of the ICC's anti-corruption unit.

His test record of 9 wickets at 49.77 is more the bowler we saw at Essex.

Forgive my ignorance but who is it?
