Plastic pitch ,more like palm fronds than Percy Thrower playing surface.

Gets booked early on for grass cutting both legs of Athlone forward whilst ball was somewhere else.

Then scores a sublime two touch left footed stroke into left side of net from outside the 18 yard box right hand side!

1-0 to Waterford.

Anthony link between defence and forwards, stroking ball around , always seemed to have plenty of time.

Fast forward. Anthony gets sent off second half,

Extra time Greg debut goal to equalise 4-4 in 123 minute.

It really wasn’t. Everyone else who wasn’t on the injury list was told one way or the other. We strung him along for reasons that aren’t clear as he was the easiest cut whose name wasn’t an anagram of liner anger.

I meant more that he thought his performances last season warranted a contract, as they clearly didnt.

I still recall the one on one he had with the keeper. ive never seen a pro player run so slowly and that includes Rob Newman and Neville Southall.
