No we leave the sprinkler on we don’t have sparklers till November 5th ha,and we know a good pint when we see one, Si’thi lad .

We have plenty of decent craft beer places in Southend.

Can you recommend anything a bit more authentically 'Rita Sue and Bob Too' for those going up North for the first time?
Great film, filmed just up the roan in sunny bradfud = dump.

Thanks Geezer some proper advice, loads of real ale merchants visiting The Shay, will have to pass on the frothy head though so we can get to the wet bit that matters :Winking:i

I forgot to say , for the Southend skin flints their are 2 weatherspoons in town, enjoy.

Ey up **** Morning shrimpers, for those of you making the journey north Friday or Saturday, if you looking for a pub (real ale craft bars no flat pints in these like down sarf ha) a few pointers for you, the3 pigeons great pub 5 min walk from the shay , town centre, Kobenhavn bar , Victorian craft beer cafe, meandering bear, Alexandra beer house all 10 mins walk and only a couple of mins from the piece hall, in the piece hall anther 5-6 places for a pint ( not real ale) and plenty of shops, if that tickles your fancy, have a safe journey, Tara for now.
The 3 pigeons is a great pub. Glad to hear that’s still going strong.

Just made it up here - a couple of days touring the Peak District beckons before the match.

Ex Shrimper/Shaymen Dave and Bob Worthington, Alan Little and Kevin Johnson will all be at the game.

Phil Brown knows both Dave and Alan, and like them is also a former Halifax player

Right, now to clean up in the pub quiz in Old Glossop this eve - just banking on a Southend United round to play the joker on
If you like quizzes you will love the Pub Paper which you can pick up free at pretty much any pub in Halifax and surrounding area, has a 50-question and a 30-question quiz in, as well as other beer/pub related stuff. Perfect for a long coach/train journey home, or to take your mind off the football when we go 3-0 down…

Piece Hall definitely worth a visit and only 10 mins walk from the Shay…but closes at 1 this Saturday to get the place ready for the Kaiser Chiefs in the evening. That’s following the Manics tomorrow night and New Order yesterday - real life is back with a bang ?

Judging by the situation with the 5th test, I'd say temper that optimism a bit!
