Good afternoon all, 2 things ...

1) Me and the better half have booked up our honeymoon for July/August next year and have 2 weeks of bliss lined up in Barbados and St Lucia ... What we need to look at now is to book up a little 5 day trip straight after our wedding; something they call a "mini-moon" (basically an excuse for another holiday !!) ... Now it needs to be nice (obv) and in Europe. Open to suggestions but criteria is 1) wont to do too much - so dont worry about sightseeing 2) nice hotel / beach 3) decent local grub 4) good value for money ... You may have suggestions of a nice resort so just shout them out. Want somewhere we havent been before so that rules out Portugal & Spain. Perhaps Greece?! Monaco?! The floors open to you ...

2) Now im off from next Saturday for 2 weeks and looking into doing a late deal jobbie; that could be a whole another thread (if they exist!) but if not then we need to head into London and get a few bits done for the wedding ... any suggestions of places to stay in London which dont cost a bomb. (not easy!!) Need to stay anywhere around Oxford Street / Leicester Square / Sloane Sq station so fire away.

Hit me baby

When are you getting married?

Flying from Southend seems sensible. Maybe pick your mini-moon based on there?

Useful thread... We're trying to work out:

1) Where to go for our honeymoon - school holidays next year (end of July/August) - heard weather isn't great in lots of places? Want a bit of time on beaches do sweet FA but also want to see/do some stuff too.

2) Where to go for our minimoon - in Feb half term - was thinking just a few days in a nice spa hotel in UK? Don't want to have to drive too far...

Mini moon.

The modern world. :nope:

South of France mate. Lots of resorts which won't cost a bomb away from Nice and towards Spain, like Canet, Agde, Narbonne

Good food, relaxing ambience. Great value for money if you go before the locals (i.e. July)

With London, judging by the places you want to go to, i would suggest staying around Victoria, which is one stop on the district line from Sloane Square, and 2 stops from Oxford circus on the Victoria line, plus Victoria will probably be a little more price friendly than most other parts of central London

Monte Carlo - a little pricey in main areas but off the beat and track some reasonable value can be found. And of course the additional benefit of what should be done on a honeymoon - you can spend plenty of time in the casinos.

Sun 25th May 2014. Yeah that would be ideal and flights come out soon too. But then that does rule out South of France / Greece ...

Pickled - Youve just got to be careful of the hurricane/s ... thats why we've gone for 2 of the southern islands as that tends to avoid the big hurricane's but it does rule most places out unless you wanna play russian roulette! We're going the first 2 weeks of the summer hols and flights will basically be officially out this week, so its a good time to book it up.

Nestudas - Any recommendations!?

Cheers buddy! Sounds sensible advice - you get so much it's hard to take in! Yes we want to decide and book soon!

We used lowcostholidays.com for a 5 day break, flew with easyjet to Nice and then train to Monte Carlo. Its a great journey. Stayed at Port Palace Hotel which is a bit pricey but overlooks the harbour and is only 5 minutes walk from Le Casino Monte Carlo.

We had our mini-moon down in the Cotswolds last October, stayed at The Snooty Fox in Tetbury which was absolutely lovely. Congrats incidentally Kev and Emu

The Langham. We had our wedding reception there. Fantastic place.

Hi Mate,

Try www.airbnb.com

People renting out their properties, or even the case that you rent whilst they are there. Will save you a lot of money for the London accommodation. You may wish to do something similar for Europe.
