Morning All, calling the statos of the group in particular.....I'm working on a little idea and need to find out exactly how many games Kevin has been in charge as manager .

Has to be first team games , but can be League , FA Cup, League Cup, FA Trophy and whatever the LDV/Freight Rover is called these days .

Does anyone have this figure please (up to and including Tuesday night ).

Any help much appreciated :)

You have to be careful with Soccerbase as it doesn't include FA Cup qualifying rounds, for instance.

In answer to @Northbank Nirvana's original question, Kevin Maher has been in charge for 123 matches in total from his first match, away to Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League on 23rd October 2021, up to and including Tuesday's home fixture against Altrincham.

This comprises 114 league games, 3 FA Cup games and 6 FA Trophy games. In the league, his managerial record is 50 wins, 23 draws and 41 defeats (win percentage 43.86%); in all competitions it's 53 wins, 24 draws and 46 defeats (win percentage 43.09%).

Worth noting that 67 of Maher's 123 matches were spent under embargo (over half currently at 54.47%). Under embargo our record was 31 wins, 12 draws and 24 defeats (win percentage 46.27%), compared to 22 wins, 12 draws and 22 defeats whilst not under an embargo (39.29%). The not under embargo stats obviously include the initial period of rebuilding after inheriting Phil Brown's side in October 2021 and the complete mentality shift that was required at the club.

There's definitely some big variations on different stats sites like soccorbase and wikipedia. I was looking very recently at total appearance numbers in respect of one of our players over his career and there was a difference of nearly 30 from one to another. Turns out none of them were actually correct (the player knows the correct number)

Soccerbase struggles with cup games: it has incomplete records for FA Cup qualifiers and FA Trophy games.

Wikipedia is just generally unreliable for stats.

that's fabulous , thanks very much Exiled . I can see what you mean about Soccerbase , not always the most accurate , for instance they have Callum Powell notching 17 goals in just one appearance for Kettering !! C'mon Callum pull your finger out , we'll be expecting at least a goal every 5 minutes on your return ! :)
