In response to Kay, if we stick to playing a friday night, what should be the maximum amount of games?

3 certainly sounds about right, and for them to be spread out over the season as well.

None!

Few Tuesday evening games but def nothing on Friday! From a selfish viewpoint.

Very selfish. Friday night games have been a traditional part of Southend's history for more years than I've been alive!!!

Come on OBL dont exaggerate, the club was only formed in 1906.

Its a personal choice though isnt it.

If you cant make Friday games you arent going to like them.

Personally I like them occassionally, I like the fact its an evening game where I dont have to get up in the morning, I like the fact I get to a game and still then have the whole weekend to do other stuff. I also like the option to take the kids to an evening game to get the benefit of the floodlights and atmosphere.

On the flip side the kids are generally too tired for evening games.

I fell asleep on the North Bank at a Friday night game back in the mid 80s!

Lol. My lad has fallen asleep a couple of times, including last home game and that was in the afternoon!

That was however on a seat on my lap so not a terrace floor

Yeah, not the most comfortable kip I've ever had! I have a vague memory of Dad waking me up as we went 3-0 up though

I think three is a decent number. Friday nights should definitely be the exception.

For me the bigger issue for attracting crowds is not scheduling Tuesday night games in January when it's freezing cold and invariably there are Fourth and Upwards Champions (sic) Knockout European Revenue Securing League games on TV.

Midweek games should be predominantly played at the start and end of the season when the weather is more conducive to attracting the paying public and there isn't the competition of televised matches.

Between late October and early March when the weather is at its worst we've played 6 Tuesday night league games.

From August to mid October and from mid March to May when the weather is/will be at its best we play/will play 0 Tuesday night league games.

Because of this stupidity on non-Tuesday night home league games we average 5,933, whereas on Tuesday night home league games we average 4,442.

I am all for summer football but that's another story.
