Question How many of you strictly support Southend United?

Do you strictly support Southend United as your only team?

  • Yes, I only follow Southend

  • I support two or more teams

Results are only viewable after voting.
Just SUFC for me, I know plenty of people who support other teams but don't get that myself. I genuinely believe you can only really properly support one team. Plus, I don't believe in being a two team wa*ker

Southend and only Southend!

I went to school in Ingatestone and used to get so much **** from my mates for it. They all used to say “who do I support?” And when I replied Southend they’d always then ask “No, your real team!”. Dirty West Ham supporting ****s!

Southend and England.

Although I'm happy to cheer for whoever is playing W*** H**

Hoping for West Ham to be relegated, would actually bring Essex fans back to supporting Essex based teams.

Anyone wearing a Spurs, West Ham, Chelsea or any of that clothing should be banned from entering Roots Hall :Hilarious::Thumbs up:

I understand why a lot of older West Ham fans from the area. They were a club with a strong family tradition from a working class background who played beautiful football, were loyal to their staff and managers and provided a key part of the 1966 world cup winning team.

Now however is there a more abject repulsive club in the league? Sold their soul for a shot at mid-table mediocrity in the Premier League - forcing their now shambolic fans into watching football in a soulless stadium miles from the pitch, under the leadership of porn kingpins who show no loyalty or integrity in any managerial appointments. The future generations of West Ham fans has to be in decline as they lose touch with their roots over a generation

They're a dying breed. :Highfive:

Southend but I also used to follow Winnie Mandela United, their team spirit was second to none.

Southend, and whoever's playing West Ham.

When I get that annoying question from armchair Premier League fans about whether I support a "proper team", I sometimes name Everton as my second team as I have family who support them, although to be honest I don't really feel any affinity. I also follow Kaiserslautern in Germany as I spent a year there during my studies.

I'll never understand people who support a random club abroad that they have no connection to.

West Ham fans attempt to be friendly to us but they don't understand that Southend doesn't accept them nor wants them in Roots Hall. Should be a sign on top of the turnstiles 'WEST HAM TURN BACK NOW':Thumbs up::Smile:

I’ve always supported Southend from a early age, also supported Tottenham since I was 7, can’t stand West Ham and a lot of there fans, Man Utd still think they are the best team in the world and now Liverpool fans are getting a bit carried away after just a few weeks they think they’ve already won the league:ROFL:

Southend only, but I do attend other non-league games as and when I fancy it if we're not playing, Chelmsford, Brentwood, East Thurrock etc I sometimes go to Chelmsford with my father-in-law just for the entertainment of live games and he wants to come with me to watch Southend as he says in jest 'because he could do with a laugh'. I know he's only joking but even if I ever do bring him I will genuinely have to sit him down and explain that watching Southend is different because I actually do care about the result, and if we lose, laughs will not be had.

Southend only since early 60's when I arrived here from Glasgow. Although must admit I still look out for the Clyde result for sentimental reasons.

I support Fulham in the Prem, (I have an annual membership card) and Espanyol in La Primera (where I'm a season card holder and regularly go to home games) but I consider myself primarily to be a supporter of Southend United FC.

I too support SUFC and Fulham - have been going to Roots Hall for nearly 60 years and Craven Cottage for 50 years.

Closer to home I have been supporting Falmouth Town for 40 odd years.

Had a flirtation with Manure but came to my senses in the 90`s:Sorry:

But as Tangled has said the Blues are my undoubted No 1

I have a dirty secret previously known only to a few on here. Southend born and bred, but...lived for 8 years around the corner from Priestfield, at a time when they had a bloody fine team in the late 80s, and just when my son was getting into football.

Although SUFC remains no. 1, I confess there were times when my head was turned. Only team in a large conurbation, a ramshackle ground in need of knocking down, years of mainly failure broken by occasional spectacular success, countless promises of new ground Nirvana by a chairman who is seen as dodgy but who has nevertheless kept the team going? I just don't know what I saw in them.

I must say, I had flirtations with Man Citeh when they were ****e and Oasis were mad for it but it didn't last thank god. Imagine how boring it must be supporting a club that wins things every season.
