Went into the 99p store today (have to say that place is a god-send for people on a budget like me) and when I got to the checkout, and after she had put my stuff through, I realised I didnt have enough cash on me. I said i'd pay on my card, but the woman on the till said it was a 'cash only' till, even though it wasnt marked out as one. I felt like a right idiot, as I was a pound short, but an old man behind me said he'd give me the extra pound for it. I said thank you, and he said "Just think of it as Northern generosity" or words to that effect.

I felt like a right tit when I walked out the shop. But now my views on Northerners have changed. They aint all that bad after all!
