Hullbridge Sports FC

What prices are they charging for seniors next season?

They have plans to move the old stand and build a new stand...Something along those lines anyway. They do have some new people involved who will not be sitting on their backsides and will drive the club forward.

Be good to see if they can manage to establish themselves in the league. Their crowds although not massive are certainly bigger than they were in the ESL.

I live in Hullbridge at the moment and have been there a fair few times - a very friendly club, nice bar and decent football. Really hope they do establish it this level. They'll be playing Glen Tamplins Romford again this coming season - last one was a bit fiery.

The Isthmian league set the price at £10, which some clubs aren't happy with but they don't have a choice......A season card would almost half that

I really should go.
I grew up in Hullbridge and played for them until I was 16. Back then you then went into the men’s division. We played the men’s team in a friendly and they kicked us off the pitch which put a lot of us off , our manager left and we folded so I never got to play at the new ground
my dad ,like all the dads at the time helped to build the club house
My mum is still in Hullbridge so I am there all the time- but my wife would appreciate me watching more football like a hole in the head

Great Wakering are my "local" side and I've been a handful of times when I can't get to our games. Great little club who my family have strong connections with.

Calling all Southend Fans.

Hullbridge Sports FC are a growing team in the local area, playing in the Isthmian North (4 Divisions below the EFL) and with strong connections to Southend United it makes the perfect second team for local fans that can't attend Southend games.

The club is going through a rebrand both on and off the pitch and with their own bar and facilities its the perfect place to watch semi professional football and socialise.

My question for you all, what woukd you like to see at the Bridge / what would be needed for you to support Hullbridge as your second team ?

All suggestions are welcome and any reasons as to why you wouldn't support the club are also welcome ?

Back to the original question......With fans likely to be stopped from attending away games.....Get Hullbridge to play home games when we are away and do some sort of group discount for Shrimpers.

In fact I am going to ring the very man who could make this happen.

I just love watching football, so I’ll be down at some point (normally go to GWR).
I echo what others have said - decent beer, reasonable food (e.g. burgers with onions). I’m not worried about seats as I like to stand.
One thing to add - cheap kids admission.

I would really like to watch Hullbridge again and revisit my old club, I played for them for many years including the first few years in the senior league. In fact I also helped build the clubhouse by the sounds of it alongside United we stands dad, be interested to know who he is mate. The fact I helped, I'm surprised it's still standing. ?
I became a bit disillusioned when the social club seemed to take precedence over the football club although we built most of it and put in most of the money and obviously put most of the money over the bar.

Can we kick balls into skips at half time whilst watching the police dogs? To win a car?

TBH just get a mascot that no one knows what it's supposed to be and I'll be along, as long as it observes the minute silences of course.

On a serious note, knowing the bar is open before and after, it will show games across all the providers, BT Sport, Sky etc and that they can get food and there is shelter if it rains would be sufficient for me.

living where i live its impossible, but as a kid i used to like to watch Thorpe Athletic play ,dont suppose they exist any more ,i really dont know .But happy to learn there still is a borough combination. As i said once before way back i played in the wednesday league for Southend Transport when i was young just for a couple of seasons ,As i emigrated to Australia.

Following on from post 29......I spoke to one of the new trustees last night and suggested some sort of group deal for shrimpers. Or maybe a pie and pint sort of deal.

He liked the idea and said they had done that sort of deal for the cup final on Saturday, to get the locals in the bar.......He is going to speak to the right people, so watch this space.

They have a new sea food bar there which is open every Saturday? even if your just passing its open to the public. I sampled a few bits about a month ago and would rate it 9/10 by football standards...Their salt beef sarney was also excellent.. Far better than anything you would get at RH

They will be starting their season before us. They will have to play in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round, which is due to be played on Tuesday 1 September.
The draw has yet to be announced but will be against one of 15 other clubs.

Will non-league clubs have to start the season without fans?
Also if away fans are banned how so you enforce that at non-league level?

Officially it would seem yes, they will be behind closed doors.
The FA stated that the non league season would not start until fans are allowed in.
But some step 5 & 6 leagues are planning to start on the 5 Sept, but are waiting for the all clear to do so.
So as usual, who knows what is going on!!??
You cant stop away fans at most non league grounds.

I am sure it will be an enjoyable experience going to a game at Hull bridge Sports. I regularly go to Chelmsford City, Concord Rangers and Great Wakering Rovers when Southend are not at home. Cheap admission, decent club bars, lots of genuine football fans and in this current crisis, plenty of room to social distance.
