Hullbridge v under 23's tonight

Neat and tidy, kept the ball well in spells but again no real standout as such. O'Shane Stewart again the pick from the outfield players along with Jimmy Wallace the left sided CB. Callum Taylor also done very well in goal with 2 or 3 top saves.

I can also now see why Taylor is ahead of MMN. He'll be loaned out IMO

Pick of the bunch from Southend imo were O'Shane Stewart and centre half, Jimmy Wallace. Wallace is only 17 but plays much more mature than his years would suggest. I would worry a bit about the system because they gave the ball away A LOT with unforced errors, panicking under pressure and not making 5-yard passes and kicking it out for a throw.

As @FarmdogSUFC has alluded to as well. Disappointing from Mitchell-Nelson. You'd expect him to now look a real leader in that environment

A well balanced decent game. The only reason it stayed 0-0 was both keepers made some outstanding saves.

Just like the first team, Southend needed to be more positive/pull the trigger around the box....But credit to them they matched up physically and that included keeping JET quiet....though he was not on all 4 cylinders, thats assuming he even has all 4.

What was poor by us was no numbers on the shirts. Players many had not seen so far and plenty of subs, it spoilt the viewing a bit.

Decent set up and your allowed to mingle as it’s none league.... Despite a relaxed regime, people still kept to 6 or less groups around the tables etc. So if some planned loans happen, then its well worth popping over for a game.
