Stupid question, but after the incident, I don't recall any more trouble both inside or outside the ground afterwards or did I miss something?

There was a little bit going up to the Blue Boar afterwards. A little mob of Colchester tried to attack some Southend who were laughing at them. The police very quickly got hold of the 2 Col U ringleaders, and the others ran off. In this instance, the police reacted very well, and stopped the punch up that was about to happen. They tend to put the best coppers around the Blue Boar, and the useless ones inside the ground and on the corner of Fairfax and Shakespeare.

Cheers 'Seventies'.

It just seemed ironic that rather than the incident inflaming the situation, it actually calmed it all down.

Worth also noting that the Colchester "spotters" did not recognise one of the "lads" in that mob. Fair assumption then, that they were mugs who were there for one reason and one reason only.

Not the first game at which coin throwing has gone on, happened against Millwall too....and there was police enforced segregation at that game too.
