if we will go for any of the players released by West Ham...

The one that stands out is -

Trent McClenahan

We played against him in the Cup at their place and he looked solid and he has played Championship level with Anton when West Ham were winning promotion but unfortunately for him has been forced out because of competition by a proven international.

Definitely worth a look... thoughts...

Wasn't McClenahan the one who handballed it and somehow got away with it?

Good player from what I remember.

What Shaun Bartlett, Franny Jeffers of Jon Johansen.....

Yes I can see one if not all of these full internationals jumping at the chance to come and play infront of a packed 8000 bumper crowd at Roots Hall in a potentially relagation threatened side.

Sure that would help their chances of international recognition no end of good.

He retired from S.A. national team so I reckon an offer of Championship football will tempt him, as he don't have to move house to join Southend.
